Hareline Fly Tying Material Kit

Very nice set for my tie-flying-obsessed 8-year-old grandson. All the materials he needs to get started is in this kit. The book of beginner flies is very clear and lists the items from the kit that he needs to create each one. I was a bit nervous ordering because photos of what is inside were not that great. Almost didn't buy for that reason But it is a very complete kit of materials, so I was pleasantly surprised.

Picked this up upon recommendation from some reviews I’ve seen on YouTube. I’ve tied two flies with the material and better quality so far than big box stores.The second fly I had issues with, as instructions were not clear, but YouTube came to the rescue!Missing the #8 hooks and I received two packs of #6 of two different types. Not a big deal, but email hareline to see if these replaced #8’s or not.

Cool storage box. Good assortment of material. Only complaint is that about a third of the Medium Copper Wire spool of thread was off the spool (spools are not sealed in plastic nor secured in the box) and is unusable.I sent an e-mail to spawnflyfish.com and 20 minutes later got a phone call. They are sending a new spool and will notify the manufacturer of the problem. Thank you, Josh, for outstanding customer service.

Wow there is a ton of materials to get started cranking out your own flies. The only downfall is the book. It's got good instructions but not enough pictures for all the steps although I was able to figure it out easily. YouTube is your friend to supplement your journey.

Overall good kit, but the head cement was set up when it arrived so was unusable. Everything else in the kit seems to be good quality.

My husband loved this starter kit! Came with some very quality materials and he has mad 50+ flies with it. Couldn't be happier
