Great quality unit, works very well!!!!
Well built quality unit. Works like a charm. One place we often camp is notorius for low AC voltage. This puts a lot of extra load on the AC unit which tends to go into thermal shutdown on really hot days. And here is Southern Arizona we get a lot of REALLY hot days. This unit solved that problem completely. Easily boosts 105 volts to 116 volts which reduces amp load and overheating on the AC unit. Not inexpensive, but a lot cheaper than having to replace an AC unit. Better cooling performance and reliability are a big plus. The extra surge protection is additional peace of mind too.

Great surge protector.
This device protects from surges, and also boost the voltage if the incoming Shore power to the RV is too low. Thus preventing damage to sensitive appliances.

Great electrical addition
This is awesome. It can boost power on a week breaker box and has a replaceable module for surge protection. Great for my camper. 50a version.

A very useful piece of equipment for RV’s
We struggled at a campground to maintain our voltage to run the AC. After replacing the AC because of low voltage . We purchased this it is a very wise investment if you an RV’er.Excellent customer care from the manufacturer!

Pretty good booster
I would highly recommend purchasing along with this the stand that is recommended s as well as the cover. I purchased my first one from a local retailer. Those protective items were not available. After a little over two years out in the elements plugged into my rig and several rolling blackouts and power outages due to freezing, I finally had to replace it.Prior to having this device I could not run my AC on my 30amp rig if I needed to use the microwave. That was the first thing I tested upon installation. The power boost you receive on this solved that issue. Additionally the AC’s seemed to go into shed mode very rarely during our Houston TX summers with this. The only thing I would prefer to have on this that I have on the Hughes surge protector is the ability to see and reset it from my phone.Other than that I would highly recommend this product. We worth the money.

This is a must in the RV world and easy to install
When we had an issue with the electricity in the campground we are staying at for the summer and one of the legs of the electricity on a super hot day dropped to 104 and the EMS Progressive Unit cut the AC off to protect the coach. A fellow camper told us about this product and the next day I ordered it and now i have even or most even power on both sides of our RV. The only problem I have is with the cost as When i purchased it the cost was $601.00 and then the very next day it dropped to 546.00 $55.00 dollars less and as I write this review its back up to $590.00. I am extremely upset Amazon would not help out. This product weighs over 39 pounds. Be sure to get a heavy duty lock as this would be something that can be taken in an RV Park as this is our life saver for our 40ft RV.... We will never leave home without it. We use this product with Progressive EMS unit, you do no have to use their suggested EMS unit but i think it has blue tooth I am not spending another $300.00 for a new EMS unit.

Big help during hurricane Milton
Had to use a portable generator for the house. We have had problems with the generator voltage fluctuating and killing some delicate electronics. This unit stabilized the voltage and made a bad situation much better. I’m a fan

Not just a surge protector or a circuit analyzer
I saw the Hughes Autoformer at a camping rally. I thought the concept was interesting, but also thought the price was way too steep. I managed to catch a sale and ordered one. I have not used it much so these are just my observations based on two trips. I will update later as I gain more experience with it.First, this is no lightweight item. It has some real heft. There must be some really heavy-duty items in there. I also like that a locking cable was included in the package. While it is not what I would call a heavy-duty cable, it is like a lot of bicycle cables and will deter the casual, opportunistic thief. I also like that the surge protection is something that can be replaced if needed. It isn't like a cheap surge protector that just gets thrown out.Operation is simple. Turn off the power pole breaker and plug it in. Turn on the breaker. If everything is operating properly, the appropriate lights will turn on. If something is not correct, different lights will turn on and guide you to figure out what is wrong such as bad ground, reversed polarity, etc. If all is normal, turn the breaker off, plug in your RV's power cable and turn the breaker back on.So far, I have not seen the boost LED light up as the RV park were we were appears to have adequate power. It may be that we will observe it in the future. I am not sure how well it would work in conjunction with an inverter-generator. I think it is mainly meant for use with the power poles in campgrounds and RV parks. A inverter generator of adequate size will not have the voltage sags of an inadequately supplied campground power pole. It would have its own overload protection which would shut it down. Hughes would need to answer whether it would work with a generator or not.For the peace of mind, knowing that it will help my AC appliances to operate properly in a situation where the voltage sags. Did I need it? I could have done without it, but I think it will be a worthwhile investment in the long term.

Works Great
bought this booster for my R.V as I could not turn on my Air Conditioner and my lights fans etc would all go dim. I put this on and now goes from 100 volts to 118 and maintains it all day I bought the wall meters good value that told me what was drawing so much. I have not gone under 116 with my A.C on and with my Hot water (electric) so this is the the cats meow.My neighbors are now purchasing one as in parks some runs are longer than expected so you lose a lot of amperage. My run is about 125 ft of 8 gauge down to 75 ft of 10 gauge to the receptacle so lots of draw for 30 amps.

SO impressed!
We have a 50 amp RV parked in a seasonal 20 amp site. Not ideal, but it’s what we have. This thing is amazing! We had voltage dropping to 90 on busy, hot weekends, and it was around 105-110 at its very best. Now we’re hovering around 115-120v. It’s a definite relief to have it, and the surge protection is the cherry on top.It was REALLY nice not to have to order this direct from Hughes because we would have had to “re-ship” it since they can’t legally sell it to us here in Canada. It’s worth noting that it is NOT CSA approved. Not yet. We were all set up to ship it using a re-ship service to get it into Canada, but it would have cost us more to do it. This was an expensive purchase, but it’s worth it for peace of mind.

Fixed my electrical problems
My seasonal park has really poor power. 30amp service and my fifth wheel is a 50amp rv. My air conditioner would trip breakers constantly if they park was busy or if it was hot out. I was getting about 106 volts with the aircon off and low 90s with it on. The autoformer bumped me up to 115-120 with it off and kept me above 106 with it running. I ran it this weekend for the first time and never once tripped the breaker.Despite the high cost it was still 1/4 the price of buying a newer more efficient air con.Other than it being quite expensive I was disappointed to hear it wasn’t waterproof. I made a waterproof vented box for it out of plywood and aluminum so it doesn’t overheat or get exposed to excessive moisture

Great auto-boost and power regulator!
Arrived very quick right to door. We have a voltage drop issue (likely due to small line gauge used to site over general use in campground) whereby we start with near 120v until load is put on. This unit helps the issue but doesn’t entirely correct for it (may be beyond its scope of capability). The unit does boost as required but on our 30 amp circuit, any 2 medium to high draw items (such as hot water heater and portable toaster oven) we still only get 110-112v so we have to be careful what we use (those two items admittedly are fairly high like 9-14 amp each maybe?). However what it DOES provide is peace of mind that it’s being regulated automatically and I don’t have to unplug/plug a raw booster that I used to use when I needed more power... that provided too many Volts when requirements were not needed (like 130+). So this aspect is great!——I should add for extra clarity that without the Autoformer trying to run 2 heavy draw items would be impossible as the voltage would be far too low to be safe. The item comes (as it says) with a great handy plug in volt meter. During the initial test my manual meter and it both read 117v. We turned hot water heater on, briefly dipped to 109v +/- then came back up to 115v so the device is doing the boost as expected. Highly recommend if you are experiencing power issues with your RV!
