My First Body (My First Board Books)

Best book for learning about the body
I am in love with DK’s My First books and this book about the body is no exception. These books are perfect for 9 month olds to about 3 years. My 16 month old has always been very vocal but I strongly believe that these books have been a huge help for her growing vocabulary!!! She loves to sit and point at the pictures and name them and when she gets them right she is so proud of herself. I got this book because I wanted a book that would help me teach my daughter parts of the body and it has been perfect!! What I love most about this book is:- it has real pictures of babies and toddlers which I think makes this book engaging for even the youngest of babies who love to look at faces- it has close up pictures making it easier to point out different parts as well as different angles to see those body parts from both sides- it is more than just a book for learning body parts. It also helps teach verbs (what your body can do), adjectives (curly hair/ straight hair), emotions, food, clothes, and even counting!- it is the perfect size for small hands! My daughter loves to get this book off the shelf and flip through it on her own- it is the perfect size to fit in a diaper bag! These books have been a lifesaver and the best way to keep an active toddler happy and still at church.- it is very inexpensive for the quality of book you are getting (sturdy board book) and for the number of pages (30)

Building connections
The media could not be loaded. This book is such a great option for young kids to see other kids and to mimic what they are doing. My daughter always picks this book. She loves to point to the eyes and then find her eyes. It’s a great book to help parents teach their child body parts.

Essential book for your baby’s home library!
My baby loves this book and looks at it multiple times a day and we read it to her about three times a day. She loves real pictures of things and people right now. Her vocabulary is rapidly expanding because of it. She says: happy, baby, hands, nose and hair at 13 months old. She loves the faces page with the different emotions and expressions. It is bigger and nicer than most of her other board books. It’s obvious that a lot of thought went into putting it together which isn’t always the case with board books. As a parent, I appreciate that the images positively represent children of all races. Awesome, awesome little book.

My 18 month old is obsessed with this book.
Our toddler absolutely loves this book and brings it to us to read all the time. It has great pictures and the facial expressions are very engaging for little ones. The title is a bit confusing….my FIRST body…As opposed to? 🙄 but that’s not a big deal and barely worth mentioning

Good but could have been better.
I bought this book to use with 2-3 year olds as an introduction to body parts and their names. In some ways the book is a bit too advanced for the age group, but in many ways it does meet our needs better than other board books that I have seen.Pros:1. Real photos.2. Board book with lots of pages.3. Instantly engaged and interested my 17 month old son - he flipped through it multiple times in one day and paused very contemplatively when looking into babies' faces.4. For the most part, the pages are devoid of background or scenes so the animals themselves can be clearly seen.5. Perfect size for my toddler's little hands.6. Includes a lot more topics than expected: emotions, actions, senses, dressing for the seasons, counting, daily activities, etc.Cons:1. The "line to vocab word" format does not seem to translate well for toddlers or babies. I don't think they get that it is pointing to something.2. No hazel eyes represented.3. Dark hair = photo of medium brown hair?4. Light hair and straight hair both with image of blondish hair - should have used an Asian girl for straight hair instead for diversity .5. Not convinced the baby facial expressions match their label - surprised and tired seemed flip-flopped.Overall, I like the book and so does my son. Sure it could be improved upon, but it is the best I have found in a board book.

Good book for toddlers
18 month old loves this book. The fact that it is actual photos enhances it. She likes the pages with different facial expressions and pages of babies jumping etc .Good book for looking at together & talking about the pictures.would definitely recommend. Hard wearing as its a board book

Al di sopra delle aspettative
Comprato per una bambina di 16 mesi per introdurre i primi vocaboli in inglese. Molto educativo e con parecchi contenuti.
