Cheeky Mountain Frolics
I loved the homo erotic overtones in this film. There is also a romantic banjo strumming scene that really got me going

Duelling Banjo
It's a good old film to watch especially when they guitar duets with the banjo "Duelling Banjos" and of course the cast are ALL stars too

“You got a pweddy mouth bwoy “
Stone cold classic, one of the best movies ever made. Burt Reynolds in his prime and the fact that some of the extras weren’t actors but real local Hillbillies adds to the realistically feel. Superb

Simply one of the best!
And an absolutely ground breaking movie that set a trend for many, many Deep South style movies. A superbly written screenplay, accountable by the fact that it was aided by the writer of the original book, James Dickey, who has an appearance as the Sheriff later in the film. The film is as near to the original book as can be. Considering the film was originally released in 1972, the scenery shots along the river, where 4 friends decide to canoe along before the area is flooded to create a dam and lake, are wonderfully done… it really captures the ambience required to give you a feel of where the film is going. All the cast are fantastic and come on, who doesn’t think they would be Lewis (Burt Reynolds) as the “master of the wilderness” if you were in the same situation. Even though it’s a dated 1970’s film, the main scene, that caused the film to be banned in some areas, changes the essence of the film from a 4 guys on holiday flick to one of survival, and it still has its shock value even to this day! A fantastic book transformed into a fantastic film in my opinion. As so many quotes have been used from this film, actually proving that the film made a massive impact, so a huge clap for the British Director John Boorman and the film should have won many of the Awards it was nominated for. Add together the Bluegrass South style music soundtrack and it’s got to be a 10 star rating… out of 5! A legendary movie. “You done taken a wrong turn” if you don’t watch this film at least once in your lifetime… I couldn’t get to my DVD copy so rented this version, well worth every penny and I watched it twice in the 48 hour time limit…. Priceless.

A classic (and the original) tale of a river trip gone terribly wrong
The premise: four (sort of) friends go on a canoe trip down a great river to get back to nature. The question: what can possibly go wrong? The answer: watch the film.It features truly great performances from all four leading actors, and by the additional actors as well (some of whom were locals), in a terrific script (written by the author of the novel on which it was based, James Dickey, but re-worked for film, and for the better, by legendary Director, John Boorman). It is also packed with subtle menace, a terrible turning-point scene, and a bizarrely haunting banjo tune.Enjoy.
