so I don't like the 12C very much except when playing with a ...
I purchased this mouthpiece about 4 weeks ago. I use it with my valve trombone which came with a no-name 12C. I'm a euphonium player who is used to a larger bore instrument and bigger mouthpiece (I've played mostly with a 6.5AL since I started playing euphonium/baritone more than 20 years ago), so I don't like the 12C very much except when playing with a mute. I bought a Blessing 6.5AL for my valve trombone in April, and I do like it a lot more than the 12C for overall playing, but sometimes it allows more airflow than the instrument, which has 0.480" bore tubing, wants, so it doesn't respond correctly. The 7C is a definite step up from the 12C, and is a very commonly-used mouthpiece. It produces a bigger and brighter tone than the 12C and produces better instrument response, particularly in the lower range, without sacrificing the upper range. I can get up to high B-flat with no more difficulty than with the 12C. I now have 2 Blessing mouthpieces that I use with my valve trombone, and 2 Bach mouthpieces that I use with my euphonium. For my purposes, the Blessing mouthpieces are just as good as the Bach ones, and they are much less expensive.

Good fit
Nice comfortable mouthpiece. I play Euphonium and it works well with the small shaft instrument I just purchased.

Perfect
This is just as good as the mouthpieces costing twice the price! I play in a ska band and so I'm often playing fortissimo, especially when I'm un-amplified and the rest of the band is. I played on a 12C in school, but in comparison, I get so much more sound and a better tone with the 61/2 AL. My range took a hit when I first made the switch (could barely hit a high E), now I can play up to a high A confidently, have even hit the C above that with this mouthpiece, something I would've never done on my 12C. The low end leaves a little to be desired, It takes increasingly more air to get the same dynamic below middle G, and anything below a low C takes all you have to play and yet is still anemic sounding, forget about pedal tones. Needless to say, it's not for someone playing bass trombone. But for someone playing in 1st or 2nd chair in a jazz ensemble, or in any situation where you have a lot of leads/solos, this mouthpiece is great.

Great mouthpeice! Consider buying if your kid/student is new or just needs a smaller mouthpeice!
My daughter absolutely loves this mouthpeice! Her rental instrument came with a generic 6.5AL, but after starting to learn her instrument it was obvious to me (and her) that the mouthpeice was just too large for her. Not sure if my daughter would stick with trombone, I decided against an expensive bach mouthpeice and got this Blessing 12C instead!. The rim is a little thicker, and the cup is shallower than a 6.5AL which ended up being perfect for my daughter! The frustrations my daughter had were quickly alleviated and her playing progressed quickly! She decided to stick with her instrument, and eventually I will get her another "better quality" mouthpeice. However, this is perfect for new students, or very young musicians. Most new students will end up denting the shank, so it is much cheaper to replace this mouthpeice than an $80 Bach mouthpeice.

TL;DR: Great for Beginners!
Perfect size for a beginning student all the way to the late intermediate level (5th or 6th grade to past highschool). 6.5AL (Or 6 1/2AL same thing) is the mouthpiece size preferred by most if not all band directors for students starting to play their trombone/baritone/euphonium instrument. This mouthpiece is a normal size bore so don't go buying it for a bass trombone or other large-bore instruments. I practice on my student trombone and it's just like the original mouthpiece. Great price too

Perfect fit, pitch & quality for Euphonium or Baritone!!!
PERFECT fit for the Euphonium or Baritone! You cannot tell the difference in sound quality between the manufacturer made $150 mouthpiece and the Blessing mouth piece. & It's 1/4th the cost of the original (or manufacturer replacement) mouthpiece. Heavy duty and sturdy, just like the manufacturer specific one. I cannot tell the difference, except my bank account isn't crying.
