Was a perfect fit for my Tahoe, looks like a factory install.

I've installed a few stereos in my day and I know the importance of having the right piece of kit to complete your install.This Scosche kit does the job well. I installed it in a 2005 Chevy Silverado 2500HD. The real key to this is a proper installation of the head unit trim ring. Make sure you use the lock down tabs on the trim to hold it in place. The single greatest point of failure in these is a failure by the installer to know to do this (if you don't, that's when the radio slides around or falls out of the dash).Once installed properly, it's pretty solid. To make myself feel better and because I'll be driving my truck along the Alaskan Highway, I used some cardboard to fill the gap between the pocket and stereo (with some double-stick tape) so the radio will not move in the mount.Once wired up and everything, the kit bolted right up to my truck with no issues. It's a great fit. It doesn't look bad, not great either. Not cheap, but not high end. It is sufficient in every way to install an aftermarket head unit. If you're looking for fancy, go with a double-DIN aftermarket head unit.For my application, I did not need any of the included shims or screws. The shims are included in case your application needs them.Total install time for this piece was about 5 minutes.

Their description of this part is not right it will not fit an '02 model GMC truck. Brackets changed in '03 which this bracket would fit. Now they say it is past time to be able to be returned.

It's cheap and it fits the dash of my '03 Impala perfectly, which is great, but those are about the only high points.It comes with nothing at all to physically secure the deck into the dash kit. Most others, like the Metra version of this same kit, come with brackets that hold the deck's sleeve in place. The only reason I didn't rate it lower for this is because I'm technically inclined enough to fabricate a workaround without much trouble.Other quirks: The CD pocket has small holes at the back, so if any small objects fall into the pocket, they'll end up rattling around inside your dash unless you cover the holes before installation. Also, the trim ring looks nice but it's designed to be universal, and it's not a perfect fit for my JVC deck. It works fine, but I had to take a Sharpie and darken some exposed aluminum on the deck that was visible through the gaps. It would be better if the kit's bezel was flat across so I could use the trim ring that came with the deck.All in all I made it work fine, I only had to do it once, and nobody who looks will ever be able to see its flaws. So I guess I'm satisfied enough.

Looks simple to install. Should be sturdy enough to support a light, aftermarket radio. Like the CD pocket.
