We purchased this backpack in September for my first grader despite the negative reviews and so far we’ve been very pleased with it. (It’s now January.) One of the zippers did stick a little when we got it and we were concerned but it’s continued to function just fine and the rest of the bag is adorable and sturdy. We love the cat design and as a mom I appreciate the reflective piping and water bottle holder. The padding is good and the straps well designed with the exception of not having a chest or waist strap. Would purchase again!

My daughter used this backpack everyday for kindergarten last year. It held up great! No tears, zipper still works, and it washed up easily. Still looks almost brand new! She is rough on all her stuff so I was pleasantly surprised it held up as great as it did!! It also has plenty of space for her stuff. She put her folders, jacket, sometimes a laptop, and a change if cloths and still had plenty of room.

I have yet to find a backpack that lasts more then one school year. This one was a favorite with the little and the pockets/storage is great. Only bummer is the zipper broke after about 6 months. I contacted the seller and I was sent out a replacement bag. Easy and quick. Definitely recommend this backpack as the new one they sent me has an improved zipper!

My daughter loved this backpack, but after just 2 weeks of 2nd grade the straps are already separating from the pack and fraying. We haven't overloaded it and it's only held a spiral notebook and a folder so we haven't been putting it through any excessive use. I understand this happening at the end of the school year but not in the first month of school for a 2nd grader.To me it seems like there wasn't enough fabric in the seam allowance and the fabric frayed out of the seam, so it could just be a one off. I will contact the seller and request an exchange and update my review if needed.9/16/2022 Update - I was able to get an replacement and will update again if we have the same issue. My 7 year old still loves the backpack and was really happy to be able to keep using the same style.10/5/2022 Update - No fraying on the replacement, I genuinely believe it was the seam allowance on the first backpack we received. Updating to 5 stars.

We’re on our 7th week of 4th grade and this backpack is holding up well. It seems cheaply made and the zipper seems especially cheap, so we’ll see. My only real complaint is it had L a very strong smell when it came in and I still get a whiff of it sometimes. But it’s cute and my daughter loves it, and it didn’t cost a fortune.
