Debert "Spectre" homage watch is a real bargain!
This Debert watch is an obvious homage to the Omega Seamaster Spectre watch worn by James Bond in the film of the same name. It has a few minor cosmetic differences (the 12 oclock numerals are where the Omega logo is on the original, and this watch has a date window). The case is beautifully polished stainless steel, the bezel is ceramic like the Omega, and it comes with a sapphire crystal, which are quality touches uncommon on a watch in this price range. It also comes with a screwdown crown and caseback. The caseback is windowed, showing off the nice looking 21 jewel Miyota Automatic movement. While this may seem like just another cheap Chinese homage watch, it comes with a lot of quality details, and so far, after a few weeks of wear, the Japanese sourced movement, with its stunningly smooth sweep second hand, is keeping perfect time. The only reason I gave it less than 5 stars, was because the Nato strap that comes with it is rubbish! I immediately replaced it with a BluShark Modern Bond Nato strap!

Nice look but way too many Shortcomings
Please understand my rating and review is for the watch and NOT the vendor. The vendor did a great job at getting me the product in a timely manner. Here’s my brief review. I took a chance on this Debert watch simply for the look and the relatively inexpensive price as I believe it is an attractive design. I thought I could add a stainless-steel bracelet and/or maybe a rubber strap to make it look more elegant. On the plus side, the watch is attractive and it does have a sapphire crystal. Everything else about this watch is a negative and here’s the short list:• Lume is almost non-existent.• Bezel rotation is extremely flimsy. To the point where it would be better if it didn’t rotate at all.• Setting the time, etc. does not feel solid.• The holes in the lugs are unusually placed way too close to the watch case so no (standard sized) replacement strap or bracelet can be swapped.• Although not expensive, an automatic Seiko or Invicta can be purchased for far less money and is at least double the quality in my opinion. If this watch didn’t have to go back to China, I would return it for sure but I guess it will just get tossed in a drawer for now.
