Preparation for Total Consecration Accor Paperback – Import, 1 March 2006

If you're looking for the REAL Preparation for Total Consecration written by Saint Louis de Montfort, THIS is the book. There is another version with St. Louis' profile on the cover referred to as 'updated' but it's actually written by Fr. Hugh Gillespie. I had both books and was able to compare. The Gillespie book is absolutely nothing like the original book. I'm really confused how Montfort Publications refers to it as updated when they are two completely different books. I ended up throwing away Gillespie's book. Some may like it but it's simply not written by Saint Louis de Montfort. As for the the real version, it's fantastic! Every day you sit down with this little book along with the Bible or the Imitation of Christ, then read, meditate and pray. It's very simple but very enriching.

Loved this book - the language is old fashioned, but if you see past that then you can appreciate the heart of what it is leading you to - total consecration to Mary :-)

I love this prep for consecration to Jesus Through Mary. There are no better ones out there.I even put a leather binding on one copy because I used it so much and didn't want it falling apart on me.In my opinion this version is organized better than the current edition (if you can even call it that - they say it is the new consecration booklet but it is compleatly changed).It seems to put forth the core teaching of the Saint better than the current edition, has better structure than the current edition, and is clearer about how it should be used.The added structure and simplicity aids a person in going deeper in this devotion if they let it take them there. It is less cluttered and more direct. As a whole, it is a good introduction to the thoughts of St. Louis de Montfort and is also a good introduction to true devotion.It is good because it shows you what prayers need to be recited for each day. It also has great meditations that it highlights from Scripture, "true Devotion" (and other writings of the Saint) and "Immitation of Christ."It is good in part because it helps us to see ourselves and how far we fall short of what we are called to be. It doesnt stop there though... It also shows how great we can be with grace and the aid of the Spirit and Mary. It shows the life that is possible in Christ Jesus.This devotion will help people be more dedicated to and more in love with Jesus than they could ever be without it.
