This is a great deskmat. Protects my desk- and the surface eliminates the need for a separate mouse pad. I am able to readily use my mouse all over it.

Too expensive for a desk pad so thin and with such a low quality. I give it 2 stars because the green colour looks good on my wooden work desk.

This mat is simple vinyl. I purchased two of the silver/grey in different sizes to match the desk space for each of my computers. It has a smell when new but not bad and I'm sure it will go away after a day or two. It is rolled in the package and does not yet lie flat, but I am sure it will. It has no bends or creases. The surface is nice and smooth and clean. The grey color is nice with my pc. The silver color is nice with the Mac. It works well with the mouse and I can also write on a piece of paper without the pen punching through - but if you pressed hard I suppose it might. It is not too thick or too thin, not too soft or too hard. It is good for what it is. It looks like it will be easy to keep clean and when it gets worn I can easily replace it. I am happy with it.
