First of all , it's cute , looks nice,WORKS
I felt it with water, gave it 6 and 1/2 minutes in my thousand watt microwave. It cooked for eggs perfectly and the inside was soft. I immediately put them in cold tap water in a bowl cracking the end first so that the inner membrane which separate from the inside of the shell. Then I peeled them and they disappeared into my stomach! I've used it now for a week every morning having two or three hard boiled eggs as my breakfast. It works better than expected and looks great on top of my stove top no need to put it away in a Cupboard it's going to get a lot of use. I would definitely recommend this to anybody who wants something that actually works and it would be a perfect gift also!

Plus...it's so darn cute!! Some say, "It's cheaply made." Well, yeah. Ya don't need much to cook an egg in a microwave. It's easy to use. It works. It's gotta make you smile... For me, it was well worth the price.

Safety Hazard!! Blew our microwave circuits
If you’re reading this review, take it as a sign to steer clear of this product. We bought this in hopes of saving me some time in the kitchen, and ended up getting more than we bargained for.We followed the direction listed in the instruction manual to the T and it ended up overheating and blowing our microwave circuits. Now our perfectly functioning microwave is broken and in need of a replacement (a $300 loss on our end).I should have guessed it was dangerous when I saw the aluminum lining inside the plastic casing. I had it running in the microwave, water filled to the water line with four eggs in the container…when my house started smoking up. There was a weird smell of something burning and then all of a sudden my microwave stopped working! We had to open all our windows in the middle of winter in hopes of getting the fumes out of our home! Not to mention, our microwave is now broken! Please do yourself a favor and stay away from this product for the safety of your home and children.

Know your Microwave power setting.
Seams easy to use. I have a 1100 watt microwave. I used 6 minutes and let set for 5. One of the 4 eggs cracked but remained in the shell casing. I placed the eggs in a ice bath and they peeled great. All were cooked perfect. The outer part of the chicken is plastic so I'll have to see how long the locking tabs on the front and back last.

Impressed
This just arrived and I cooked my first batch. The inserts are aluminum, not "stainless steel" as the seller says, so do not put it in the dishwasher. They are not a "heating plate", they are shielding to keep the microwaves from directly cooking the egg. Steam, from the water that you put in the bottom, cooks the egg. Instructions in English are provided and they may also be read on this page, although the package is printed in Chinese. "Poached" is not the same as soft-boiled. This device does not poach eggs. Instructions do not include the mentioned desserts that can be cooked, and I would not try.Tried 6 minutes in an 1100 watt microwave and the eggs are perfect. Excuse me, I'm going to get another. As many times as I have hard boiled eggs, I never had them come out this perfectly.

Very tiny
This is TINY ! I use farm eggs….which this does not hold. I would say this need store white “regular” eggs not large or jumbo they probably won’t fit

Love Hard-boiled Eggs
I own two of this type of egg cooker and love this way of "boiling" eggs. I've been using one of these egg cookers for many, many years and would never cook hard or soft-boiled eggs any other way. The eggs are actually steamed of course and any problem with exploding eggs or wrecked microwave ovens is not the fault of the steamer. It is all plastic, including the insert, which is aluminum colored and not aluminum, as some have thought.

Dud
Too much steam in the microwave caused the electrical to switch off.
