AMTECO DIVISION OF GEMINI INDUSTRIELow voc Exterior Oil Stain, Dark Oak

Picked the dark oak thinking it would cover better on older wood but its soaks in and made wood look old with lots of black spots. I was wanting a nice dark brown. Did not like the look at all on my small trial section. Beware it is non- returnable. I ended up using Cabot semi solid which turned out really nice. Hope its durable.

My deck was in desperate need of staining so 3 gallons was not enough to adequately stain a 10x20 area with railings. I gave the railings 2 coats, but the floor boards only have one. It does bead up when it rains so one coat is all it’s getting this year. Will buy more next year to give the floor boards one more coat! I should have gone with the 5 gallon bucket! Certainly didn’t have enough stain to do the stairs. This is not a complaint. It’s to let buyers know, 3 gallons is not enough to stain a 10x20 area with railings and stairs. I purchased the dark oak. Love the color. It’s definitely darker with 2 coats vs 1. It was so easy to apply using a brush.

Applies well, looks like a good long lasting stain . We shall see over the winter if it lasts

Beautiful rich color. Cumaru graining came right back after one coat. Very pleased.

Chose the dark oak stain for our front porch floor boards and it is beautiful. Easy to apply with paint pad and brush to get between boards, but had to move fast as it dries quickly and if dry won't blend as well with adjacent areas.

Will last 2 years which is about average for translucent stain. Low VOC which reduces some of it's effectiveness, but good for the lungs.
