Great new color
I use Brilliance Inks to mark metal with my CO laser - until I can find space for a fiber it’s a great solution.I like that the bottle can be easily converted to aerosol , although I haven’t given that a try. My space isn’t setup to spray easily, so I prefer to apply with a 1” foam brush/nice thick coat. Love the dummy proof markings right on the bottle for where to fill.I have used this brand for years, and they offer great support/help to get you started with metal marking. It can be a challenge to figure out the process and dial in the settings the first few times you give this a try, but it’s really rather simple once you figure it all out and is a nice skill to add to the tool arsenal.Color wise I feel like the reds look best on the aluminums I have tried it with, on the stainless steel it was a very dark red (veering close to a brown or almost a black?) - I am half convinced that means I need to back off the power settings or speed up the power a bit though, as maybe I’ve just burned it too dark and the steel is reacting hotter than the aluminum. (Short translation: the problem is probably me and not the product, as I have been impressed by the quality of everything from this company!)Two thumbs up. Spendy product but more affordable than the ready to go spray bottles, and it’s not hard to do the mixing step yourself. A little of this goes a long way - so if you’re not going to use it all up in a timely manner might be worth calculating out ratio to just mix up a portion of the jar at once.

Cheaper alternative with great results
I knew I needed this for stainless steel items for my co2 laser but didn't know how to use it. There were no instructions which resulted in me looking for them on the website. After mixing the powder, it does work great, and just the same as the same brand in spray form, only this is better as it's easier to control and not not much here is waste, compared to the overspray from a can.Since alcohol is mixed in this bottle, I just hope the remaining that I haven't used yet does not dry up as it's still a little pricey. A little here definitely goes a long way and assuming it doesn't dry up, this should last a long time.

Works very well
I tried this product on both Aluminum, and stainless, and got equally good results with both.It comes in powdered form, and you add denatured alcohol to the jar until you have filled it to the mark, then mix well. The result is a mint green opaque liquid. You brush a coat of the liquid on to the item you want to mark, and let it dry. It dries in less than a minute.I have a 130 watt CO2 laser, so I based my settings on those given on the manufacturers web page for a 100 watt laser, and just dialed the power down a bit. I had great results the first time. The resulting mark is a copper-red color, and VERY permanent. This product, in its brush on form, is super easy to use, and is less wasteful than the spray versions as there is no overspray.A little goes a LONG way- so this jar should mark a lot!

It takes practice!
The first time I tried this, I thought I did it wrong because it was not as visible as I expected! But after someSerious practice I got it to work.

Works as it should FOLLOW DIRECTIONS!
This preformed as it should have. Very easy to use as long as you follow the directions as stated. It is NOT going to produce a dark red color so those who have stated it didn't work need to try again. It does give you a red hue so I think steps are being missed. It is a great price point and comes with what you need to apply.

Makes laser cutting easier
I had a diode based laser on my laser cutter and this does help with the cuts. I still use the max or almost max power on the laser but I need a lot fewer passes when I apply this powder first to the surface. There is the additional bit of clean up involved after but with a towel and some rubbing alcohol it's pretty easy and fast. You don't need much either, so a container this size can go a long way, depending on the size of your surface that is. But for smaller projects I'll definitely get many many uses out of it.

Perfect way to mark metal with a diode!
This stuff really performs! I have been entirely impressed by how easy it is to get a permanent black marking on steel using this! - Simple as can be to use, I mix it right with Isopropyl Alcohol and use a small gram scale to get my ratio - Can be applied by brush or spray (even have used this by pouring) when using this in my air brush, I put as much alcohol as I need to get the right consistency to be thin enough for spraying - will easily wipe or clean off so don’t touch after coating - 11/10 a win for laser engraving metal!

Does not produce red color
I don't know what I was supposed to get with this. I thought the idea was to get a red color on the metal. If that was the case, I probably gave this one too many stars. The reason I still gave it two stars is because like Brilliance's other laser marking powder (the one that is supposed to make black marks) this makes a nice deep black color. The first photo is all done in one speed and power on a 50W CO2 laser. The second is three separate settings the circle is slow high power, the TEST engraving is half power higher speed, the square is quarter power with the same high speed as the TEST engraving.I was not impressed by the results. I should also note I have a high-powered (20W) diode laser that Brilliance's black marking liquid works very well with. This absolutely DOES NOT work with a diode laser.
