I already rated the level 1 of this product. It was just about what I was looking for, but one of the books were harder than I felt it should be. This one, same. The books are a lil harder than what I would expect for a never read, just learning the alphabet child helping set would contain. I still say five stars. The video is interactive. It has my 4 year old interested, and trying. She can now say the alphabet, and write most letters. the workbook has helped with the writing a lot. I was told that she was 'slow' by the doctors, and not to expect much for her first few years of school. I tried many things to get her started, and ready for kindergarten, but nothing worked. Until I tried this set. It has her interest. It has her interacting with the video. She enjoys it. She enjoys the 'abc homework' from the workbook that comes with it. Her older brother and her do the flash cards together, even though I really wish they would include some sight word flash cards because I have like a million sets of ABC flashcards already. It's a great buy, and if you purchase it using the buying options to get it at a lower price from a seller, its a steal! Seriously, this will help kids that have been said to have 'learning disabilities', it is helping mine.

I used Hooked on Phonics to teach young children with language delays to read. It gave them an excellent background for success in kindergarten. This particular item was sent to a little neice who will be entering kindergarten in the fall. She is reported to be enjoying it a great deal.

Bought this for our 2.5yr old. He's older sister had a set when she was 3 and she loved it, and so does her brother. Older sister is a great reader now and is reading chapter books two grades above her level.DVD is fun and pages are simple, colorful and strong - perfect for those little beginners.

save your money and just buy one level 1 or level 2, do not buy both! they are exactly the same!pathetic how they would deceive people like this. they should have provided a new work book with new content.but its exactly the same as level 1, just tracing abcs,the story books are different. so essentially all you are buying is 3 books for 20 dollars which you cant really choose so save your moneyand buy your own books. also these books are too difficult for kids to read, so you have to read them stories basically.learn to read? I dont think so.. hooked on phonics doesnt provide professional content here. very very shocked here.

When my son started kindergarten he did not know his phonetic sounds of each letter. I quickly learned that his teacher was not focusing on that so I took matters into my own hands and began to teach him with these Hooked on Phonics books, starting with level 1. After just four short months of working at home about 15 minutes a day, he can sound out sounds and is beginning to read.

My 2 year old grandson loves HOP. The DVD is great, my grandson loves to dance to the music and he repeats the letter and sounds back. He gets a star (included in pack) every time he watches the video and completes his workbook page for the day.

It’s ok. The workbook is nothing special. My son loves the DVD, watches it every night.
