I've always loved pfaltzgraff but the speckled look on this design makes me think that there's oil on the plates yet after wahing. I suggest you use a fully glazed design instead.

This is a beautiful set of Pfaltzgraff stoneware, a service for four with four each of dinner plates, salad plates, good-sized bowls, and nice big coffee mugs. I got mine in Hunter Blue, a pretty navy blue which is beautiful and has an earth tone band around the edges of these pieces. I love the design of the plates, which have a small raised rim that helps prevent spills.These pieces of stone glazed dinnerware have a gorgeous blue glaze with contrasting speckles, and the entire collection is just as beautiful and just as sturdy as you'd expect from Pfaltzgraff. The blue color goes with just about anything, and they're appropriate for casual meals. I love the short rim on the plates and the earth tone trim around the edges of everything.Gorgeous, sturdy stoneware, a set for four, made by Pfaltzgraff, so you know already they're very sturdy and well made. The entire set has a great blue glaze with contrasting speckles, and the earth tone band around each piece is beautiful. These are dishwasher and microwave safe and would complement almost any dinnerware or serving pieces. I really wanted to love these. From the professional photos they look so cool! Unfortunately the "contrasting glossy speckles" mentioned in the description seem to be more like a product defect where they decided the best (cheapest) solution was to alter the description slightly and sell them as is, rather than an intentional design decision. At least I hope so, because up close they just look dirty. Also, the dinner plates are REALLY deep, to the point that they don't fit properly into a standard dishwasher. They seem pretty durable though, and they do look nice at a relatively quick glance. And while the plates might be a little too deep, the bowls are very deep too but are functionally better for it. All in all, an okay set with few but significant flaws. If they just altered the rim of the dinner plates slightly and fixed the glaze to solid matte black, it would be perfect. I didn’t return it because I thought I’d be able to overlook the flaws, but as time goes by they just annoy me more. Shame. I’ll likely ultimately donate these and buy something else for myself.

Looking to replace our hodgepodge collection of dinnerware, we went with this set. Full disclosure, almost a decade ago I purchased a set of Pfaltzgraff for myself, so I knew the name. That said, this set caught my eye even before the name recognition. This set has a pleasant weight, striking a nice balance between feeling solid, without being heavy. The only complaints I have is the bowls feel a little small, and one of the salad plates has a minor, aesthetic imperfection, where there is no colored glaze beneath. That said, I would ABSOLUTELY recommend anything from Pfaltzgraff, and I would absolutely buy again!

Well, once again, Pfaltzgraff brand dish ware doesn’t disappoint. Navy blue is an accent color I use in my white and green kitchen and this set just added a nice touch. The finish has some glistening specks to them that I think adds to the design. The dinner plates seem large, but they fit into a standard cupboard depth, which at first glance, I didn’t think they would. The bowls are nice and deep, and the mugs are a decent size. The edges have a terra cotta clay color that compliments the blue. The set is very durable, and not too heavy. I don’t consider them as “lightweight “ but I can easily hold the 4 salad plates in one hand when putting them in the cupboard. They wash up nice and are great in the microwave. Very nice set.
