Does this unit produce less ozone than the Pro?

Both of them produce so little ozone that even a professional ozone meter doesn't get a reading at 10 inches from it. Technically though, the new design of the pro emits less ozone than the twin air. Ozone production on both models is negligible.

is there an adjustment setting for the ion output level

There is no adjustment option at all I am afraid. We have two products both with different output levels to accommodate different room sizes. The Twin Air, which is still stronger than near enough everything else on the market, is for smaller sized rooms or where electronics may be a concern. This Twin Air covers up to 430 square feet with the Twin Air Pro covering up to 640 square feet.

Have the machines passed California limits yet for ozone and if not when will we know

Unfortunately we haven't gotten around to it yet. Our priority has always been the further development and improvement of our products. The only reason we haven't done it yet is cost (The testing is quite expensive), our capital has been invested in other areas of development. We will get it done this year though, I apologise for having to wait.

Was this product sold in 2017 under the name "twin air pro"? if not, what are the differences between this and the old "pro" model?

Same name, just the internal circuitry periodically gets updated as new options become available. The changes are to improve them, make them more reliable, last longer between emission fibers becoming dull, etc. The ion output remains constant, well above most other ionizers available and way less ozone than other products of similar strength

So far seems fine. It goes on and off and has a low sound, not loud enough to wake me when I'm asleep. It's light weight so needs to be placed in a safe place where it won't tip accidentally. I've gotten a light shock when I've touched it while it's running which was stated in the directions, but the shock isn't intense or alarming. It's just an alert. Seems to clean the air in the bedroom well.

Noticeable Difference in Air Quality

I purchased this item as I have asthma and allergies. So far so good. I can honestly say the dust particles that used to float around are no more. You can hear the unit 'crackle' when it attaches to particles. Plan to purchase the pro unit also.On a side note, the shipment was fast and the seller genuinely interested in helping.

I love it, the best decision I made

Does exactly what it says
