WOW! Said the Owl

Great tool for learning colors
I borrowed this book from the town library to read to my 15 month old daughter. My husband and I read it to her over and over (and over) again at her request. We read it so much that when the book had to be returned, our little one was still asking for it. So we ended up ordering her a copy. The book is a great tool to help teach colors. As each color is introduced to the owl it says "Wow!" and the illustrations are vivid and very cute. This book is nicely done and a good addition to your child's personal library.

Colorful, great for 12 months to 4 years
My 20 month old son is really into penguins and owls so I bought this book. It is very cute. The little owl is pictured on every page. It teaches colors. The little owl stays awake and sees all the color that the day has to offer and then the night offers.....(I can't tell you that part, you will have to read it yourself). Every time we turn the page my 20 month old will point at the owl, purse his lips and say, "oooooooooo". I am also teaching my 3 1/2 year old son letters and WOW is written a lot in the book in large caps. That may be the first word he knows how to spell.

This owl teaches COLORS
I bought this book for my 3 1/2 year old son, but I think it would be great for younger kids as well. My son loves owls and the reviews of this book were really good. I think its a nice, simple story that teaches about colors and it seems like young kids would enjoy reading along and a great way to learn about colors as well as point out the different objects in the book, like the flowers or the stars. I love the owl and the colors are nice and vivid.

Wow said the daddy/mommy - this is a good book
We really enjoy reading this book to our daughter. She picks it out of the book lineup every time - great illustrations and bold colors. I do wish it was a board-book so it would stand up to all the (ab)use. It has a great flow and cadence and when you boil it down it's a great story - things are amazing elsewhere (greener on the other side of the fence) but chances are the lot you've been dealt is just dandy. A life lesson I'm still working with /goes and reads/ Wow Said the Owl again.

Lovely wonderfully illustrated book
This is a wonderful book to share with a toddler. It's beautifully illustrated and teaches the colors and a bit about owls. A lovely book that toddlers can go "WOW!" with! My daughter asks to have this read to her over and over again.

A fun book of colors for a toddler.
My 19 month old granddaughter checked this out from the library and loved it. She was upset when it had to be returned, so I bought it for her. All I can say is WOW!

Great book!
My 16 month old daughter loves this book!It has very vibrant colors and a repeating theme of the owl throughout which is great for repitition in reading. We basically just turn the pages and say the names of the colors and other items on each page but the story is nice as well. Overall, it is a very good book for looking at colors.

Great book!!
I am teaching english to preschoolers and this book is great!!A curious little owl doesn't wants to sleep when he should and stays awake to see what happens when the other owls are asleep. And he is amazed "Wow" as he encounters different colors that were all around him but he couldn't really see at night.Children learn about the colors they see in their everday lives with new eyes! "Wow"

Such a great story!
The illustrations in this book are beautiful! The story is great for a wide range of ages. Infants and toddlers will enjoy the repetition of the owl exclaiming, "Wow!", while preschoolers and young school-agers will appreciate the story line of a nocturnal animal discovering the colors of the daytime. The board book is great for the younger ones, and it's convenient to take places. Throw it in your bag with an owl puppet for easy entertainment on the go. Then extend the activity by looking for things around you that match the colors in the story. This book is definitely one of my favorites!

Nice board book about colours
The concept, illustrations, product quality is good. I want to mention here 2 tings that I find confusing about buying children's books : i) Age : this book is perfect for age 2 yrs - 3 yrs, not more than that - it will finish too quickly for an older kid. ii) It IS a board book, not just a hardcover. What I really enjoyed in this book was taking my daughter & nephew to watch the sky turn orange-pink (at sunset, not sunrise!) after reading this book a couple of times :)
