I didn’t even try it with my dog. I pressed the brake button and pulled on the leash myself, and the brake doesn’t hold. I realize retractable leashes aren't the safest for restraint, but I expect the brake to hold against a light tug. I will return this leash.

Feels good in the hand, smooth reel inside, nice rubberised handle and well shaped. Recommend it over other brands I've bought.

Used this while it was a light flurry outside and when it got on nylon it did not want to retreat back in.

Like the length but dosnt retract without getting tangled. Have had for about a month now and has about 4 feet that won't go back in at all.

Overall it felt like a pretty good quality leash, but with my dog I found that the tape frequently was binding while retracting. So for that reason alone, I returned it.

After weeks of looking for a 26ft retractable leash that the locking mechanism doesn't SUCK finally got one that worked exactly like the lock buttons do at Walmart etc but not the short leash.This one even fits my leash zip lock poo bag/ treat dispenser saddle bag.Thank you!

I previously wrote a 1-star review as I was disgusted that they sent me a VERY used and "chewed up" leash. However, this 5-star represents the replaced item which is high-quality and performs very well. Hopefully my 1-star has helped the company clean up their returns (as I suspect someone returned this horrifically mis-handled product to the shelf without inspecting it). The "new" leash is exactly that "new"! I like this retractable leash far better than any I have previously used.
