If you're having issues with moisture in the basement or the bathroom and the dehumidifier just isn't doing an effective job, look into this. This is a pretty effective fix for a potentially serious problem. Excess moisture leads to mold and mildew, which leads to allergies, which leads to massive amounts of Benadryl, Sudafed and Claritin (which leads to me nodding off at my desk - "Non-Drowsy" my aunt Fanny).Set-up is idiot-proof - remove the lid, open the bag of pellets, dump into the tub, remove the foil from the lid and replace the lid. Place the tub on a flat surface in the affected area. Check every few days but when the pellets have dissolved and only water remains in the tub, dump the water and replace the tub. (I don't love the fact that it's single-use plastic but it is effective, so there's that. Still don't love it.)Odor control could be better but, it may simply be where it is, in a small bathroom, with no windows and a kitty litter box, so maybe I'm asking too much.The Arm & Hammer is $20.12 for two tubs. By contrast, we also bought a four-pack of ZARPAX moisture and odor control tubs. These use activated charcoal and seem to be intended for more heavy-duty use, like really moist basements found in old houses, small bathrooms, where humidity is an issue and enclosed spaces like old garages. These are four for $19.99 and the odor control seems to be more effective.I activated them on the same day in different places, so I'm curious as to how long each will last. I'm trending toward the charcoal-activated product at the moment but if the pellet solution lasts longer, I think I'd be more inclined to lean that way. Especially with the dozens of Glade scents available to assist with odor protection.

helped reduce the smell in our basement

Purchased this item to help eliminate minor dampness and stale odors in my basement utility room which houses 3 of the air handlers for my home as well as the water heater. i had kind of a low expectation because I'd never used this product before and wasn't sure how it would work. Very pleased with it. Just purchased my second 2 package supply. It's not 100% effective in getting rid of the stale smell but darn close.

Easy to use to keep basement smelling fresh

Got this for a small room in our basement, but I have no idea what the point of this is. It didn't do anything to help with the smells. This includes running a dehumidifier 24/7 in the same room.

I just ordered these for the second time because they worked so well. I live in an improperly insulated attic space when the outside temp fluctuates a lot the eaves sweat and give off an awful mold/mildew smell. I have tried every sort of air freshener on the market over the years and none of them have really worked, they hide the smell, sort of but when it gets bad the air fresheners are no match. I heard about products like this one and decided to give this a try. Bought the double pack in November and figured they wouldn't work. I was blown away, they worked quickly and the way they were supposed to. I could even see some water gathering in the bottom of the tubs and best of all, they got rid of the smell. I still use an air freshener because I like the smell of it but cannot detect any of the mold smell. They lasted for a while too, I just now need them again in March after having bought them in November. The space I have them in is fairly large too and all I needed are the two tubs. I will always have these around, they not only keep the smell away so my clothes don't stink, but they kept everything from feeling damp like it was before these. Cannot say enough good things about them.

This product worked great! A 3 gallon glass water jug broke in my car right before leaving on a 8 day vacation. Left my car windows open but didn’t have time to clean it before leaving to the airport. Couldn’t get that musty smell out of my car for months. Bought this product and it took about a week to work fully! But finally no more smell!
