A cheaper alternative
I bought this as a cheaper alternative. It seems pretty sturdy, assembly is straightforward and my grass is as green as green can be. The adjustor for the size of the opening is not too sturdy, but works fine, hopefully it will stand the test of time.

Basi, brittle and broken!
I looked at the Miracle Grow version of the 'drop' spreader at a local garden centre but at some £65 I deemed it too expensive for my small, flat and even lawn. I elected the Wilco equivalent because it seemed value for money and because Wilco is a trusted brand name. However, I was very disappointed in the build-standard and ultimate use of the product. Here's why ...The 'drop' spreader seemed lightweight from the outset. It was easy to 'assemble' because the only 'assembly' necessary is in the connection of the 'handlebars'. On the surface, it seemed elementary to use because all that was required was to fill the 'hopper' with granular lawn weed/feed, select the desired rate of 'spread' and, thereafter, to push it across the lawn. My overwhelming sense was that the entire product was too flimsy ... and I was proved correct.I had not pushed the spreader more than a metre before the brittle plastic at the core of the right-hand wheel sheered and the wheel fell away. I managed to dispense my expensive granular weed/feed (I wasn't going to forego the cost of that as well!) with the use of only one wheel. Nonetheless, the whole product distorts and gives the impression of all-but immediate failure elsewhere. After exhausting the fill of weed/feed, I disassembled the spreader and consigned it to the bin. My strong advice is that potential customers buy a product that is more robust and longer lasting. Wilco has a good name but, in my opinion based upon this experience, the 'drop' spreader does them no favours as far as product reliability is concerned. Good luck.

Brilliant idea.
Bought as a gift for elderly parents who wanted to keep their garden looking beautiful. They use it regularly. It works fine. Dad says it’s a little flimsy and doesn’t get the seed as even as he would have liked but works non the less

Doesn't spread like the description says
Too large and bulky and the settings are plastic and will probably break. Does not spread evenly. Quite disappointed really

Waste of Money!!!!!
The wheel broke and fell off after only 10 minutes of light use. Simply not strong enough to take the weight of fertiliser in the hopper (only filled it 2/3 full) VERY disappointed with this purchase. Can’t contact the seller, as Amazon acting on their behalf?! Now having to re-box and post back in the hope of getting a refund.?Refund received…. Thankfull for that👍

Not very good
Tried twice but had the same issues, no control when turning at end of run just dumped a load of weed and feed also intermittent feeding of lawn feeder when walking at recommended speed so would not recommend.I have used spreaders lots of times but this does not do as it says, followed instructions precisely as it said but not consistent waste of money because I thought I would try it again after the first failure it is outside of 14 days return date should have listened to other feedback with same problem and returned it
