Considering lots of different solutions to doing a good stir-fry, I finally took the plunge and ordered this burner. I was pleasantly surprised at how heavy and sturdy this appliance is. The burner assembly itself is cast iron and the rest mild steel. The air intake control works well to set the intake air so you get a nice even blue flame. Make sure you have enough gas coming out when you light it; once I had it too low and the flame went down into the bottom plenum instead of igniting the burner. I had to shut it off and relight with gas turned a little higher.This unit puts out plenty of heat for a good stir fry using my large steel wok. It easily cooks larger food portions, something I always had trouble with when cooking on the inside range. I can add a little oil, heat the pan up until it's smoking, and then drop in the meat, veggies, etc. Then I use a tossing motion to turn the food just like they do at a Chinese restaurant, letting the little droplets of oil contact the flame. Be careful you don't set the dish on fire though; I keep the wok lid nearby just in case!My wok has a small wooden handle on the other side and that has become a bit charred with the increased heat. If it burns too much I might just remove it as it's not essential.Because the paint burns off the hottest parts of the steel I think I will keep this unit inside and only take it out when I'm using it so it doesn't rust on those parts although I'm sure it would still last quite a while outside.Although I haven't done any other cooking than stir-fry so far, I'm thinking of using this with a paella pan or maybe even a turkey fryer in the future. Very pleased with the purchase and quality.

I bought a 14" diameter cast iron dutch oven to deep fry lumpia (egg rolls) in my backyard for my Christmas dinner party. Worked out perfectly. Even on the lowest setting, about 1/2 gallon of canola oil was running at 425 deg f, I'd dunk the eggrolls I made and froze the night before in, it would drop to about 350 deg and take about 1-2 minutes to fry to perfection. I made 100 rolls in just a few minutes so it made quick work of the job and flash frying kept them from getting greasy.There are a lot of little burners on this thing compared to smaller units so make sure you have a good purpose to use this thing. The air inlet to adjust the flame from yellow to blue flame worked perfectly. The quality and finish of the product is really very good and heavy duty. The pic shows a rubber gas hose but what came with mine is the stainless steel braided hose shown with other offerings on Amazon. Again, this thing is massive so my next project to fry a turkey should be easy.

Fantastic burner with good features. The air:fuel ratio adjustment worked really well to get the flame just where I needed. Get a lighter under there, open the valve until you get a good yellow-flame throughout... then open up the air vent slowly until the flames get blue and adjust the gas accordingly.You want to get the flames as big as possible without creeping up the sides of the pot that you're heating.Super easy to use... very sturdy and well built.

The media could not be loaded.  I NOW CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT THIS BURNER! I COOK OUTSIDE IN THE UK ALL THE TIME BECAUSE OF THIS SUPERB PIECE OF EQUIPMENT! THERE IS NOTHING IT CANT DO. IT IS EXTREMELY POWERFUL- PROBABLY TOO POWERFUL FOR A LOT OF THE STUFF I COOK, BUT I WOULD RATHER HAVE MORE POWER THAN LESS. IT IS VERY ADJUSTABLE AND VERSATILE. SOLIDLY BUILT, IT CAN BE USED FOR THE TOUGHEST JOBS OR JUST BACON & EGGS. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!

As others have said, the paint does burn off. I'd recommend running it for an hour or so cranked up without your kettle on it to let everything burn off.That said, this thing works better than anything I've seen. The heat output is incredible. It will boil 8 gallons in 10 mins. The 20psig regulator is perfect and makes it easy to light and easy to control.Any burner like this will struggle in the wind but this is less sensitive than others I've seen. The burner is close enough to the kettle to get it hot quickly while allowing for good heat distribution.One thing that is really nice about this is the damper for the venturi; it's actually a stamped piece instead of just a flat piece of sheet metal - it actually works.Great burner for a great price, I'm going to buy another when I upsize my system.

I am blown away by this gas manifold ! it sounds like a jet engine at full blast( which is good !) but it can be turned down to almost nothing. The platform, ring and legs are quite sturdy and holds a 52L keg with good stability, which when full easily weighs 70 kilos ! I had water boiling inside of 30 minutes (this is no mean feat at high altitude , I can tell you).I wish I had bought this years ago .

Larger than I expected. But the only real complaint I have is that only about half the flame ports will light. Not an even burn. But I have yet to really use it so maybe when a pot is setting on top and it gets hot the other flame ports will light. I ordered a smaller one for the most common everyday use.

Bought this to use with a 24 gallon brewing kettle. It did show up with a dent in one side, probably from shipping. Also the paint burns off but I knew that from other reviews before purchasing.For the price, this one is hard to beat. I was about to buy a 10" banjo burner and build my own frame. After the price of the banjo burner, regulator, and some steel, it would have not been cost effective for me to build my own.I will still have to modify it by widening the base. My 24 gallon kettle sits about 1.5" over the edge on all sides, causing it to be unstable.Will still give 5 stars as it functions perfectly and my needs are a bit unique.

I read a lot of reviews before buying this. It was Slightly more expensive than I was hoping, but in return it is made of heavy duty materials it looks like it’s gonna last. The amount of heat that this thing puts out is awesome and from the first time walk cooking on it this is going to be a game changer. I admit I have only used twice with Scout Troop but MASSIVE heat! Very quick hot cocoa for a bunch of boys! Seems very sturdy. Did have to play with the air regulator to get it really hot but was quite easy to adjust.

directions are minimal have to experimentall in all works well

My husband uses this burner for his taxidermy work. The water boils very quickly and he must turn is down to keep the water simmering. He is very satisfied with this product.

This burner is way more than what we needed, but with that said we are using, it is very sturdy and easy to use.For everyday outdoor use we should of gone with something less powerful.
