Very strong
Bought this to seal wood deck damage from weather (osb deck that wasn’t sealed well) and it covered the joints well. After a few days in heat (80 degrees and sun bearing on it) it actually puckered though! It’s very stretchy. I’m putting more adhesive decking material over it though, so I think it will satisfy the need to weatherproof those bad joints.

Great Product
Tree fell on my gazebo and I was able to repair panels with this avoiding $700 of panels that I would have needed.

Decent Joist Tape
This went on some deck posts to prevent water damage. So far it appears that it's working well. The tape gripped well and laid down flat and appeared to get a good seal. The post is now covered with planking which will hopefully give additional pressure and hold to the tape. Overall I have no concerns with the protection this afforded.

Wood protection without compromise
This butyl tape offers outstanding protection for any outdoor projects. I found this tape to be more than adequate when protecting a doubled up joist or a 4" wide beam. The width allowed for some side overlap ensuring water would drain down and away from the top surface. The adhesive held nicely for a few days before we got to install the deck boards over top.

Solid product for the price point.
This product is sold as joist tape, which it works great for, but I found it useful in a wide range of applications. I use it as window and door flashing (its almost exactly the same thing as products marketed for flashing applications) I used it in my RV to seal between plywood and fiberglass sides and font/rear shell when I rebuilt it, I used it to plug a pinhole leak in a 1" copper pipe with a clamp over a strip of the tape folded in half and placed over the hole, which held up great for 3 or 4 days until we could drain the system and repair the leak, I really just use it anywhere it seems useful, which is a lot of places given that I build and repair homes for much of my living. The only drawbacks are that it will lose most of its stickiness below 40 degrees (F), and that it should not come into contact with asphalt or bitumen products like shingles or certain roofing underlayment such as felt paper, and some ice and water shields, as there is a reaction that can compromise the butyl tape. The tape I received from this review was very easy to peel from the non stick backing on the roll, which is nice, as I have used tape from other vendors that was not so straightforward. Nothing like sitting with a roll of tape and a pocket knife for 5 minutes trying to find a spot that isn't fused to start the peel. Additionally, the tape is quite thick, measuring a bit under 1/8th of an inch and is very resistant to tearing damage. All in all I am pleased with this companies offering of butyl tape, given the performance and price point, ill take it over anything at the local stores any day.

Not very sticky
This tape did not stick to my joists. I don't know if I got a bad batch but I ended up having to staple the sides onto the wood. Would not buy this product again.

Lots of adhesive
This stuff has ample (too much?) adhesive. It goes on to stay and oozes out where it overlaps onto non-wood surfaces (either other tape or metal flashing). It looks like it will be VERY waterproof, so that is a good thing, but be prepared to get sticky!

Quality product
I placed joist tape over sister beams ( 2 beams nailed or screwed together). Easy to apply. Quality material. Make certain joists are clean and dry. Strongly recommend.
