I was in process of re-wiring my audio setup for the past two weeks, and this time around instead of using my trusted Swiss Army Knife, I've decided to get a tool so that the cable skinning would be clean and uniform. This wire stripper seemed to support just about any type of cable insulation and the price was less than what I saw for similar tool in a brick and mortar store, so I decided to order it.The tool comes in a simple package, with very basic instructions / features printed on the back of it. Basically, different parts of tools are marked for different gauge wire stripping. The general all-purpose stripper at the top is actually the one I used most adjustable - you can expand red plastic limiter to expand the stripped cable area, and use the little rotary adjuster to better fit any common cable gauges you can throw at it (tested extensively with gauge 14 and 16). At the upper handle base, you have the cutter (which was sharp and had no problem cutting through my wires cleanly without much effort, as well as crimping notches for various sized terminals (did not really use them).No real negatives so far. Some people claim the mechanism loses the grip after extended use - it's to early for me to tell that after a few weeks of usage, but so far nothing suggests this will happen, at least with my usage pattern.All in all, these wire strippers just worked for me, and I am very happy with the purchase. I will definitely keep using them for future electric wire works, as they are much faster to operate than the regular knife for an occasional user like me.

They do what I want them to do but it seems like I always have an issue with setting it up for the correct gauge of wire. But when I do get it set up right, they are awesome.

My brother in law uses it for work. He told me it is functional and easy to use. Nice feeling on hand, comfortable handle. The stripper is high quality material, it isn't easy to slip even your hand is wet. Also it has an adjustable stopper, you can get required length when stripped.

I shouldn't have cut costs on tools I've known this for a long time but I still did it because the price was good. It works well when you strip a certain type of wire but don't fiddle with the dial or change wire size as you will be wasting time on the job trying to make it fit.I left it strictly on the 10 gauge setting because dial shifting costs time. It strips the wire sometimes and a lot of the time it does not strip the wire. The clamping mechanism on mine arrived broken, sometimes it holds the wire with a death grip (which its supposed to) Other times it just releases it. So its very inconsistent.Price is more than double that of manual strippers, fancy pretty gadgets can be unreliable and this definitely was a waste of money for me.The 2nd star was added purely out of pity you are welcome.
