Soak 'em and Smoke 'em
We have been using cedar planks for grilling salmon fillets for a number of years now. There are two thing that really make a cedar plank awesome for salmon, imparting a smoky flavor to the fish and retaining the moisture. I had run out of a large number of planks that I purchased in bulk a couple of years ago. Looking around I was finding that people were selling a 2 pack of cedar planks for $10 in our area, so I decided to give these a try. I soak them for 1.5-2 hours and don't reuse them (that is my personal preference) as I do want a little char on the bottom of them. While slightly smaller in size than my last ones, they are still large enough that I only need to use two planks to cook a 1.5 sockeye fillet, which I had to do with the last ones anyways. So this is less wasteful for our family. As far as sanded vs. unsanded, I don't know if I notice a huge difference, other than the fish skin doesn't stick to the unsanded ones. They provide the same moist, smoky fish at what I would consider to be a good price point. The thickness is perfect for items that cook in under 10 to 15 minutes with the way I grill, which is at a higher temp with planks to get a good steam going and a seal on the outside of the fish to keep the moisture in. However the all the I have used planks are pretty much spent after that. Normally the fillets are on the grill for about 7-8 minutes depending on thickness (but sockeye is not nearly as thick as atlantic variety.) I will continue to buy these for fish and veggies. Who knows, maybe one day will try thicker ones and try some ribeyes on them. I will continue to buy these as I need more. This is just one man's opinion and in no way can speak for your experience with the product. But I owuld reccomend them to friends and family alike.

The best way to grill salmon !
My hubs does not like fish but he so enjoys salmon marinaded and grilled on these planks,,,, they add a really wonderful extra flavor to the fish ! These are a Great buy so nice and smooth and a great price - Will buy again for sure and take a photo next time😁

Great Smoky Flavor, Just Don’t Expect Full-Sized Lumber
These cedar grilling planks gave the food an amazing smoky flavor and made dinner feel way more impressive than my actual grilling skills probably deserved. They worked especially well for fish and veggies and added that delicious cedar aroma that makes everything taste restaurant-level. The only reason for 4 stars is that the planks are pretty small. My salmon barely fit and looked like it was trying to squeeze into economy seating on a budget airline. Still, they worked great and the flavor payoff was absolutely worth it.

Very nice, good planks at a good price
I love to cook, salmon on cedar planks on my propane grill, and these planks are excellent for that purpose. I’ve been preparing the salmon like this for many many years, and it’s harder and harder to find the cedar planks at a somewhat affordable price. That’s a real shame, but I thought these were a really good buy and I’m glad to have them.

Good Value
Very good value for the money. I actually used some of these to put in with my wool sweaters. They are not as smoothly finished as cedar intended for drawers and closets, but they work fine and smell cedary. Haven't used them for grilling yet, but they are a good size, so looking forward to that.

Non male queste placche...
Effettivamente sono abbastanza grezze,non lisce,ma se si usano per fare il salmone al barbecue come ho fatto io,vanno benissimo perché il pesce va adagiato con il lato della pelle,e non si attacca.Ovviamente bisogna tenere a mollo in acqua fredda la tavoletta per almeno un'ora per evitare che prenda fuoco.. Io mi ci sono trovato molto bene,e le ricomprerei,visto che anche il prezzo è di molto inferiore a tutte quelle di marche più blasonate che si trovano in giro.

der Preis-Leistungs-Hammer
Ich liebe Lachs vom Holzbrett und habe deswegen schon so einige Holzbretter vergrillt (u.a. auch die von Weber und Tchibo). Diese sind mit Abstand die besten - nicht nur vom Preis, sondern auch vom Aroma. Es stimmt zwar, dass die Bretter teilweise von der Dicke abweichen und recht rauh (splitterig) sind, was mich zum Anfang etwas ablehnend gestimmt hat, die Bretter sorgen aber trotzdem füre eine zuverlässig gleichmäßige Rauchentwicklung und die 'Splitter' lösen sich nicht, sodass sie noch nie im Essen gelandet sind.
