very bad Fairbanks
Totally read these out of order ….lol..but I have so enjoyed these bad Fairbanks now I know how they all started off by reading the 1st instalment lol..This is a charming and sweet build up to a passionate and happy conclusion .Although this is a shortish story it certainly packs a lot of charm and emotional depth.Mina and Charles are excellent characters with fun personalities and are a joy to read .

A little too rushed
Colin has recently become the Earl of Celdon. A distant relative, he is a little unprepared for London society, and his family are all a little rough around the edges. Knowing they all need to do better, he hires a woman to teach them all how to behave. Mina's job is to teach Colin how to be a gentleman in order to help him find a suitable wife and make his family more respectable. Unfortunately, the rogue is far too charming, and she has to work hard to resist him. This is the start of another series, and it does have promise. I was a little disappointed in the length of this book. The other books weren't particularly long, but this one seemed shorter. As a result, I felt we missed a lot of opportunities with this story. The relationship almost seems to come out of nowhere and it suffers for that. I liked the Fairbanks family, and I hope future books have a little more detail.

Easy reading
This is a quick read, there is not much of a story. It seems to be a general introduction to the Fairbanks family and their past misdemeanours, setting up the rest of the series.

I’m not sure
The story was ‘all over the place’ but quite entertaining. Unfortunately the characters were not very interesting or believable for me.

He needed help as a new Earl and she was the perfect one to instruct him.
I liked this romance between a newly made Earl who needed polishing in order to marry a respectable girl of the ton and the woman who wrote a book on proper manners to fit into the ton. Hermine lived with her aunt, caring for her when Colin, Lord Celton, at the urging of his cousin, needed better manners to fit into society and find a wife. The whole family did many scandalous things, but Hermine was attracted to the Earl and she was so different from less respectable women he had been with that the attraction just grew. Wonderful story with a HEA. One sexy part towards the end.

Although a shorter story than usual, the story was entertaining with all the nuances of family and society rules. Very easy read and enjoyable!

TAMING OF THE ROGUE: Those Very Bad Fairbanks Book #1 by Alyssa Clarke (A Novella)
Rating: 4.5 StarsFor some reason I started this book when it was first released but put it down almost immediately, so I was completely shocked to discover how much I really loved this story. Yes I could have done without the bit about the mistress, but other than that I adored both Colin and Mina. I loved their teasing, their chemistry, and just the fact that these two actually seemed to like and respect each other which is a nice change from all the other romances I've read recently. It's definitely spicy and does contain some explicit language and one steamy sex scene, but that occurs at least a month after meeting each other and a relationship between our couple was already established at that point. Like many novellas I do feel like the story was rushed but it was fast paced, filled with an endearing cast of characters, and a truly fun romance nonetheless. There was also a nice setup for the next book in the series which I look forward to reading 😊Setting: London, 1816Heroine: Miss Hermina Fernsby (Age: 24)Hero: Colin Fairbanks, Earl of Celdon (Age: 31)Length: The kindle edition ended at the 97% mark on page 111 and location 1419.
