I tried to just test with water and it worked great. It produces a good mist that still has weight and can be projected forward. Unfortunately when I went to unscrew the canister the entire assembly came with it. I didn't over tighten when putting it on. The whole thing just ripped out of the gun part. I'm not sure if alternatives would be better, but from what I see about how this is secured, it's a terrible design.I'm leaving two stars since when it worked it worked well, but I don't think these are going to last.

The media could not be loaded.  I purchased this product for cleaning and sanitizing purposes. I had always used spray bottles and sanitizing wipes before purchasing this spray gun and I was excited to try this new product out. This spray gun is a pretty good tool to use. The handle feels solid in hand and the bottle can contain quite amount of liquid. When you click on the button, the mist comes out with blue light. The mist is very fine. I have used it for a week and I’m satisfied with the purchase.

it stopped working after the second day very disappointed

I got this to spray BT (caterpillar killer) on my landscape shrubs. It's a lot better than the typical garden sprayer, which you have to pump up to pressurize, or one of the ones where you squeeze a handle. Just press the trigger, and it sprays by itself until you figure out how to make it stop! Fortunately, I was able to figure it out. The instructions might have said how, but I'd forgotten what they said and I was outside, so...The spray is indeed a very fine mist or fog. That was actually a downside for landscape use, because I had to keep it running a lot longer in order to get good coverage on my plants.As my title says, the motor seems a bit wimpy. I'm not confident that this machine will last all that long. If it makes it all the way through caterpillar season, I'll be happy. If it makes it through two or three years' worth, I'll be ecstatic.I do wonder if it'll end up clogging, which my other sprayers have always ended up doing. The packaging is totally geared toward the idea of using this as a disinfection fogger, like some businesses have been using to fight Covid. Despite the headline in the Amazon listing, it doesn't seem to have been made with spraying garden products in mind. This might lead to early failure.

Purchase two to sanitize my store and one broke within minutes.

Don’t buy! Waste of money! I bought this 2x and they both stopped working after a week!
