Disappointed...
The book is organized chronologically per the process of becoming a physician but not really organized within chapters. There is a key graph that isn’t in color so it’s tough to interpret. Table didn’t have a caption or a clear way of denoting what the numbers represented, and I had to sift through the page text, which is organized by blocks of sans serif font (yikes). Multiple typos, including at least one numerical typo, that might mislead a reader if she isn’t careful. Lots of harping on avoiding financial advisors in various chapters, which gets repetitive really fast. I think the author means well and there are good portions of the book, but overall, I don’t think I was happy with the purchase.

Excellent read for anyone pursuing the medical field
I bought this as a gift for my friend who was entering medical school. The medical profession is funny in that you go from making very little money for a very long time to suddenly making a lot of money, not the mention the peculiar loan situations many med students face. Unfortunately along the way you are so busy training in your field that you have very little time to learn about finances. I think everyone should educate themselves on finances, but it can be especially important for medical professionals. This book should be easy to swallow for any student, and while it won't give you all the answers, it will definitely get our mindset in the proper place and is a great gateway to educating yourself about finances.

Should be read by all med students/residents
Very concise, basic and helpful for trainees. As someone who just finished fellowship and only started acquiring financial literacy in the complicated american system 2-3 years ago, I think this book is a great start for those interested and I wish I read this early in my training. I actually think it is very helpful for medical students and residents cz it teaches behavioral finance (the most important for financial success) and the basics (Pareto rule of knowing the important 20% to get 80% of the results)

Must have book!
I found this book extremely useful. If you could buy this book as a medical student or a resident, you will be ahead of the game but even if you pick it up later in your career as I did, you will still find it helpful.I listened to the audible version and liked it so much much that picked up a few copies for colleagues of mine. I have also started listening to the Money Meets Medicine podcast. As a physician, we really do need financial advice that is tailored to our specific situation as a high earner/ high debt/ high tax person.

Quick, good read
I used this product to prepare for residency and financial independence. It does a great job walking you through different federal loan repayment options and beginner investing tips.
