TRG Inc. Shrub Rake, 9-inches Wide, 55-inch Fiberglass Handle

This rake is lightweight, sturdy and easy to use. There is no problem pulling up the thatch in the lawn; it’s unbelievable how much this little rake pulls thick layers of thatch from the lawn. If you are clearing a very large area, you are going to get a workout but it’s worth it if you don’t want to rent or buy a machine to do the work. If you are clearing a small area this is fine but unless you have the upper body strength to do a large area you have to pick your battle. I worked on a very large area and got the job done but I will not give the impression that it’s easy because it’s tiring. This rake is amazing, give it a try and you’ll be a believer too.

After taking this out of the box, my first impression was that it was too flimsy. I expected something heavier, with thicker gauge steel and a more substantial handle for the cost. However, I've used it several times and it is has held up well and it does what I needed it to.

Box was open so missing handle. Was replaced quickly by seller. Rake is great for getting the dead grass out of a spot. I own an electric dethatcher but this is great for the small spots!

I use it for several things but mainly for spreading mulch and topsoil as a finishing tool...it can't be beat and it is super light weight for those 8 hour days working in the yard...

Good job in smaller areas. It's work though. I'm 75 and I worked for a while and rested. Had to put a screw in handle to keep it from coming out. Worked great

I was looking for a rake to remove leaves from shrubs. Comes disassembled. To insert tines was impossible until I inserted a loop, held it against countertop and pushed down on rake head. I pencil marked the center and depth of rivet hole on handle (after 4 attempts) To get handle into rake head took a large screwdriver and hammer. A small screwdriver cleared and aligned hole. Rivet was easy to insert and hammer in. Phew. I haven't tried taking yet.

I have a small yard, 2000 sq. ft. I had 20 years of thatch built up. The design of this rake made it easy to pull the thatch out. This rake is only 9 inches wide. A longer rake would need more of my limited energy ( I'm 81) to perform this task. The package was damaged during shipping and the handle was lost by the carrier. I contacted the rake distributor, A. M. Leonard, and they promptly shipped a handle. No hassle I would definitely buy from this company (through amazon) again.

Best used in garden beds to clean up and spread mulch around plants. This is good to use in the spring to clean leaves in hard to reach areas.
