Cheaper then the alkaline water machines
I purchased this to add onto an ROI system to raise the pH of the arrow water. This works extremely well raising pH from a low acidic 5.5 to 6.5 to 11 water taste great also people who buy alkaline water machines for health benefits at $1500-$3000 Adding this to an RO system for $33 and you get three of them and I’ve already made 500 gallons of water. I say it’s a win-win on this one.

10-inch Universal Alkaline in-line Water Replacement Filter
Taste is good but flow rate is greatly reduced and when faucet is opened a burst of air comes out every time you initially open the faucet. The flow rate is reduced to probably less than 1/2 the rate it flowed with the regular carbon filter on it. I don't know if this is a defective filter or par for all the filters since this is the first Alkaline in-line Water Replacement Filter - PH Enhancer, and Re-Mineralizer filter that I have used from the order.12/18/23 update:After have using this filter system for a while I have determined that filters are engineered to give a short life span and also give off CO2 which is the cause of my bursts of air when turning on the R/O faucet after the filter has been in use for a couple of weeks. This condition also coexists with exponentially lower flow rate and water pressure even with all other filters being simultaneously changed at the same time. The will be the last occurrence of purchasing these particular filters........... ever. In my case total lifespan was noted to be approximately 45 to 60 days. Definitely not exemplary!

Water tastes terrible.
I ran the water through the filter as instructed to flush the filter. The water still tastes horrible and salty. Not drinkable.

Seems to do what it claims.
I installed this filter as a final stage on my existing RO unit under the sink. It replaced a different remineralizing filter that was past its change date. So now it's: Sediment - Carbon Block x2 - Membrane - Prolonged Contact Filter - Alkaline Filter. I tested the water several times yesterday and a few times today. Each time it resulted in a pH reading of 8. There is a new, weird, aroma that's present in the glass before drinking, but it's not a big enough deal to bother me. So far, seems like a solid filter!
