It needs to be left out to dry after back-flushing so that nothing unwanted accumulates in the fibers. After that, it can be stored.

This filter system has two stages. The first stage is a Activated Carbon filter. It is rated for 250 gallons before it needs to be replaced. The second stage is an ultrafiltration hollow fiber membrane that is rated for 10,000 gallons. The life of the filters depends on the water quality as well.
