This is fundamentally a very powerful tile cutter. No variable speed, small blade size; very dangerous for wood cutting. The clearance between the motor body and the base metal frame is just around 5mm (with complete depth collapsed) which leaves very little scope for using a straight edge as a guide. Do not engage the speed lock if you are new to this power tool. This would ensure that the blade would stop rotating in case there's a kickback. Advisable to get a proper, variable speed wood cutting circular saw that has automatic blade covering for safety or a jigsaw instead. Using a mitre box is another feasible alternative. Please consider alternatives before you decide to buy this machine for wood cutting.

My local hardware shop said I can use this to cut plywood, and so did the company's website as well as the reviews and Q&A in Amazon. Just imagine how frustrating it was when after receiving the product today, the Users Manual read "not suitable for woodworking"! Yet I ignored all warnings and went ahead to try cut some plywoods to size. The result was wonderful. Just look at the pictures to judge for yourself how this product fared at the hands of someone holding a circular saw for the first time in his life! And notice that the plywoods were already laminated on both sides, and I did not even use masking tape. (I used Bosch Tungsten Carbide circular saw blade 4" 30 teeth rated @1100rpm, whereas the machine is rated @1200rpm).Am happy with this product, and keeping it for my future DIY activities

I bought this cutter years ago from amazon, for wood cutting. I was a beginer with powertools and i found this cutter ok. But later i began to feel unsafe with its very dangerous kick backs sometimes. It is not a variable speed machine like a drill. It has only a powerfull constant speed which is dangerous while starting to cut wood. Your hand should be strong enough to hold it tight and pressed against wood surface, otherwise it will kick back - imagine such a powerfull tool with sharp teeth blades just jumbing off the wood towards you!!Also, its cutting or saw side is left. If normally you are a rigjt hander, to cut wood you have to hold the wood with your left hand. Then comes the issue - blade is at left side, so that crossing position is very very dangerous. The cut or trim piece of wood goes from right side of work piece. Second issue here - no base plate support there at left side of machine, so you have to hold the machine firmly carrying all its weight with your hand, to avoid kick back.If you are a professional, you can easily understand everything i posted here. But if you are a beginer, as i was 4 years ago, this is not a wood cutter, its only suitable for matble, tiles and stones. If you want to cut wood, go for 7 inchcircular saw at a much higher price.

Even though this is light weight, it got a solid feel. Finish is nice. i am mostly using it for wood work. Very easy to handle.Not very noisy. I really like this machine. Go for it.

Very happy with this product. You gotta buy the circular blades separately as they r job specific I.e. Wood, metal, tile. I cut wood clean and effortlessly with this mini beast, a must buy for every household! Great for repair work or tile work. Packs quite some power, so do remember to have a good meal before u set out to spend time with this machine!!

It's a nice product , I have used it but then return the same because I need 5 inch blade work and it's 4 inch blade machine, apart from that I had no issue.Coming to machine performance it's a very powerful machine and very nice... It's the first time I used any machine like this for wood cutting.... It took second to cut the wood ... I was impressed and pleased with its performance the only reason was my work is more related to cutting deep and heavy wood (industrial type).For home use and cutting plywood it's a must have machine....I ordered the same machine in 5 inch now... Full marks for Amazon for picking and delivering the stuff and again retiring back the refund....love purchasing through amazon....
