Keep It Pithy: Useful Observations in a Tough World

This book is well written and contains many thoughts and observations that I've had on my mind over the years. Bill seems to know how to make all his books easy to read and understand. I have the book on my Kindle and have not quite finished it as yet. It's difficult to stop reading it and I always look forward to when I can continue reading it again. The page I left is already there waiting for me to continue. Kindle books are less expensive but footnotes are not included on the pages. That's the only drawback of a Kindle.

It is a book worth reading, everything in the book is true, Billy O'Reily is up front with every thing, he is a honest man, if you like him and his books you will like the information he is giving you in this book. It is well worth the time and money to read this, it is full of information that you other wise wouldn't know about until you read his book!! It is well worth the money to buy it! ,

I never thought I would be reading a book from Bill O'Reilly, nor writing a favorable review. I never liked the glimpses I saw of him (always accidentally) on television. He seemed too loud and obnoxious. And then I saw him being interviewed on CBS This Morning as a promotion for this book and found that I liked what he said. He was not loud and thoughtfully responded to questions. And his answers made sense. So I decided to get the book. What a delightful read! I didn't agree with some of his opinions, but I had a clear understanding of where he was "coming from". I liked it so much that I decided to get a paperback version for my father, whose views are very much like the views of Bill O'Reilly. Finally there was something I could share and enjoy politically with my father. And that is the main reason I will think of this book with fondness...

I had parents who could have made life really easy for my brother and I, but they instead made us work for everything we wanted. Both our parents worked and also tried to run a 92 acre farm. They both had a strong work ethic, in fact my father would create work just to keep from having an idle moment. Those same ethics we passed on to our children and we see them being passed to our grandchildren. Some where, someone in a family must stand up for these ethics and morals else the chain of mediocrity and "give me" will never cease.

I'm a big O'Reilly fan, but the book was just ok. Most everything you had already heard him talk about if you watch the Factor. Very short book. He hits the nail on the head in everything except when talking about faith. He seems to walk up the faith line, but then sits down not wanting to walk over the line. I still like him.

As always Bill O'Reilly gets right to the point in a "no nonsense," pithy manner! Thoroughly enjoyed this fast read that is filled with common sense ideas backed with facts and great reasoning. It was a joy to read. I highly recommend it as it is both entertainingly written and filled with helpful insights.

I really enjoyed this book. I have been watching O'Reilly's TV program regularly for some time. Many of his observations in the book are the same as I've heard on his show but, this time, with explanations. I thought it was an amazing collection of O'Reilly "isms" for which he is famous. He doesn't shy away from controversies; he hits them head-on. Because of the variety of the subjects covered, this book is best read in short spurts, letting each soak in before tackling the next.

I enjoyed this book, the audio CD version, very much and before I knew it, the book was over. However the amount of wisdom and good thoughts for living life and how to treat others was beneficial. It could have been longer but I actually think it was just the right length. You don't always have to agree politically with someone to enjoy their works (although I do align politically with O'Reilly fairly close as a moderate traditionalist) but this book isn't really about politics so much as common sense and how to live life and succeed. Great book, glad I read it and makes a fine addition to my library! Thanks Bill!

I am a fan and watch the Factor nightly...Bill comes through so well in this book and in his talented writing, manages to cover what is happening in a most entertaining way. Great book and fun to read.

My wife bought "Keep it Pithy" for me as I enjoy watching Bill O'Reilly on Fox News. She knew I wanted this book and surprised me with it. I read it in a day and thoroughly enjoyed it. Interesting, enlightening and smusing.

Although we've read several of the authors books, including the brilliant Killing Lincoln and Killing Kennedy, we were disappointed with this one. There was quite a bit of repetition lifted from other publications and/or interviews. Nonetheless, like most of Mr. O'Reilly's writings, it stayed true to its title. We enjoy watching this author and would categorize most of what we've read in the past in the "I Loved It" category. This one, however, at least for us, fell short of the mark.

This was as disappointing as I expected...full of trash!
