Our winter rye grass is growing very well! We love watching the wildlife visit! Especially deer! And it has slowed the rain run off paths damaging our yard. We are planning on planting even more next fall.

I over-seeded our front yard. I put down 1.5 to 2 times their recommendation with a mechanical spreader. I cannot see where ANY of it grew. It was a total waste of my time and money. So how do I pick up all those tiny seeds and return them to Amazon ?

I like to install a cover crop over winter. It serves 2 purposes for me. It keeps that cold north east wind from bowing the topsoil away and it gives me a green manure to work into the ground com spring.As the September rains started last month it was time to sow the rye. It sprouted within a week and now in late October it is well established.

I had a really hard time getting this seed to germinate. It actually became bird food. I will try something else when the next time comes.
