The Incredible Life Story of Sister Elena Aiello: The Calabrian Holy Nun (1895 - 1961)

I love reading this book! My grandmother (RIP) knew Sister very well and would tell us some of the things that were in the book! For anyone who doesn’t believe in saints, have faith! Sister is proof of the word of God, he is real!

There is very much detail, which is very necessary, because this detail can be controlled and checked for the doubters (and there are always some), so, one must have patience , here and there. It is an amazing and modern story about a very holy woman. She suffered bravely and incredibly and offered this up to Heaven. She led a perfect life, starting, as a child and as a nun and was a "stigmatist". She helped many, many souls to Heaven.She suffered ,uncomplainingly , also, a great deal of humiliation and mental cruelty from some of her peers and had much privation and shocking suffering altogether in her life. She started many communities of women devoted to God. This is a most INSPIRING book ; very fine for reflection and meditation as well as engrossing in following the busy activity in Elena Aiello 's everyday life. I read most of it in one day and then had to delay it and save a little for evening reading. I highly recommend it !

Her life is amazing. Such a humble loving person. It is an inspiration that maybe this story can help me put one foot in front of the other. Realize that God loves me too, as I am and that He patiently hopes I will advance closer and”saintlier towards “He who loved me even before I knew Him!” Sigh !!! 🙏

This book was fascinating, especially because Sr. Elena made predictions which came true (and some which we still have to see whether they come true or not!). The account of her physical suffering is a source of wonder to me, as I cannot imagine anyone suffering so much, with such patience. I am glad the author took the time to write down all that he did. The writing style is not the best, but I suppose that is to be expected since this is a translation.

Would have appreciated more info on her stigmata and physical conditions as a result of it.
