Tried it loved it.Don't have to go on the roof anymore. Works way better than standard pull down rake. Ordered the pro version 30 feet length. Does need certain physical power but way less than other methods and gets the the job done quicker and not as tiring. 😊

While it took a few minutes to assemble I was impressed by the build quality. The fasteners are substantial and everything comes together to tight tolerances. Once assembled it seems very sturdy.I used it on a couple of feet of compacted snow here in Anchorage. With our roof it’s much quicker with two people but usable with one. On the sunny side of the roof the snow was quite hard making for slow going. But the rake cut through and the blocks slide ride down and off the roof. The snow was deeper than the rake but would cave in and slide off as well.On the north side, out of the sun, it was much easier and quicker to push the rake through and clear the roof. All in all this works as they say it does, seems well made and a reasonable compromise between ruggedly built and light enough for easy use. We had tough snow conditions but it did great.

A quick review: this razor like snow slide can cut through icy or soft snow equally well. If you decide to use the full qty of pole segments, be aware this becomes quite difficult to manoeuvre as the end is very heavy and the pole flexes quite a bit. I found resting the end on the eavestrough first then scooping and sliding it 1 foot left to right to do the next section easier than trying to remove and replace it. The teflon like feet protect the shingles leaving a 3-4" layer and the whole thing is solidly built. The assembly of the head is important as it tells you to only attach the slider section using the centre 2 small bolts first...this allows for the angle brackets to share the same outer bolts and hold the slider and brackets and reinforcement bar using the outer bolts last. As the nuts are lock nuts, they cannot be easily removed if you make an error.

I used this on my roof where we had water damage due to ice build up. The snow is melting so the weight of 5 ft of snow and water caused ice build up and drywall damage. It removed a lot of snow. I'm 5'4" can lift 70 lbs but this was very heavy and unwieldy. I was able to use it with three extentions with exaustive effort. But by the fourth, I needed a man to help. And he had issues. The last few extentions are impossible to use. So of the 30 ft, you can use about 20.
