I don't use this printer more than a few times a month, but it was easy to install/set up and use, it prints out nicely, shoots the pages out well, sits for a couple weeks and does it all over again w/o issues. Easy to change the ink, as well. Definitely an upgrade over the printers have had over the pears.

My old Canon wireless printer finally died. I really don't need wireless, just print and copy so thought I'd try this Canon. I've used it a month now and it's great. Lightweight and plastic-y and operates with a clickety- clack but does a good job. Canon website is great for instructions and video how-to. Can't comment on longevity yet but hope it lasts as long as my laptop.Edit: Quit working after 3 months. Printing totally wonky. Aligning printer heads didn't help.

Pros1. Relatively inexpensive for a printer/scanner2. Not that hard to set up, inserting ink cartridges, not difficult3. Printing text on plain paper was straightforward4. Print quality is good5. Not as noisy as some reviewers claimed6. Comes with two lengths of USB/Printer cord(standard)Cons1. Will not print thicker glossy double sided paper(error message says stop printer and adjust media type and size). So I tried thinner 'presentation paper',higher quality barely thicker than bond or copy paper which most people use, went successfully.. but colors are far from equal to glossy photo paper...more like Matt photo paper which lacks deep blacks. I don't use very thin photo paper because they crease easily. So this printer must be made for those in it's photo settings.2. There's a CD provided with set up and driver but it's only for Windows computers. Mac users have to go Canon's website to download the drivers/manuals and scan software. If you use Linux, you can probably forget this.3. It's not a wireless printer so forget printing from your phone or tablet wirelessly... although the older Epson wireless printer that this replaces could not locate my router which actually died, even though I downloaded the latest printer driver and loaded new inks(what a waste, luckily I didn't buy expensive OEM inks for it). Epsons are well known for being finicky about independent branded inks. So it goes.4. This Canon is quite ink-thirsty, just doing a single test text print used up about 10% of the black ink supply, no wonder I see there are independent ink manufacturers selling just the black cartridges as options. Other reviewers did mention how fast the ink cartridges deplete, so go for the #245/246XL inks. Inks are not inexpensive for this model, especially Canon OEMs, one #245/246 XL inks are about 50% of the printer's price! Independent brands are a little cheaper so shop wisely!5. Whoever(at Canon) packed this printer must not be a happy worker. The 'Get Started' instruction sheet was crumbled and shoved into the box, the rest of the packaging was okay though!

I was apprehensive about buying a printer online, but the reviews were good and this one was not a wireless. It comes with USB cord and a set up CD (or you can go online to set up). It is compact and the ink is easy to insert. For someone who just needs printing here and there, and does not do a high volume of printing, this is the one for you. It is fast, but a little noisy, but who cares - - it's in the office area. I highly recommend.

STAY AWAY IF USING CHROMEBOOK. This printer is not compatible with chromebook. Model mg2522 is not listed under model options.Pro I was able to use the scanner/copier with out it being connected to computer.

This device may not be the most sophisticated one on the market but I know from experience that Canon Pixma printers work properly and are easy to install and operate.All in all a good product.

I've got a lot of experience in refurbs and parcel deliveries. This package was in the worst shape of any package I've ever gotten. After I finally cut through all the tape that was holding it together, my suspicions increased when I pulled it out of the styrofoam end pieces and saw that there was no tape or other stabilizers anywhere. When I picked it up, there was something big rattling around inside. Turns out, they didn't bother to remove the old, beat ink cartridges, and one had broken loose - somehow. I was ready with other ink to install, but they also didn't bother to include the installation disc, so that led to an unnecessary search to find the drivers, which I finally did. But, true to form, there was no communication between the printer and the computer... more unplugging and plugging and other experimentation, and I finally was able to get a very inferior printout. At this point, I'm not about to box up that beat piece of junk and send it back. Hell with it. I'll have to eat the cost, and buy another one.
