Was completely surprised. These are something special.
Replaced a pair of Sony's SSCS5's because they weren't producing enough sound for the room. After attaching these Heco 300's I was immediately surrounded with a bass frequency, satisfying mid frequency, yet not initially impressed with the top end. The treble was rolled back, muted as if behind a curtain or wall. This did change after they were broken in.Two weeks later I invited some friends over for a Christmas dinner and someone put on an Amazon 90s rock station on the WiiM Pro. Pantera came on and it was a song all of us Gen-Xers could remember, and this is when one of my guests turned up the volume. We could not believe the sound that was emanating from these Aurora's! The instrument separation was there, and the sound stage had buy guests asking if the music they were hearing was coming from just these two Heco's? I said "ya, those two gems right there."These sound very good. Exactly what I was looking for from a bookshelf speaker. These are a basscentric. At lower volumes on some songs the mids and highs are slightly muted until the volume is raised.Setup is a fun-fi system. Aiyima A07 with sparkos opamps installed, via micca cables, a WiiM Pro streamer, and a T8 preamp for the CD player. The Aurora 300s have a cool design. I like the wood grain aesthetic on the sides and the L-shaped baffle. These speakers have a premium design and heft. They have a premium sound. If you're looking for that bookshelf speaker for under $500 that can fill a medium sized room with quality sound check these out. They definitely improve after a break-in period. Great party speakers!

Clean sound and wide range well under $1000
I rate these speakers highly for the bookshelf budget category. There are important speakers on the market to compare these to, such as ELAC, KEF and Klipsch. This speaker blows the ELAC models away due to the HECO's frequency response range and lower distortion, esp. in the low end. Klipsch and KEF will require subwoofer accompaniment even in a smaller room; the HECO can do fine without a subwoofer unless you are a hip hop listener that wants more bass. For rock, general pop, metal and other electronic music aside from ambient, these speakers are enough in a small room without a subwoofer.Downside: these Heco speakers lack character that KEF and and definitely Klipsch will give you, MEANING those speakers have MORE IN THE MIDRANGE (around 1kHz-2.5kHz) --where electric guitar, voice, saxophone, snare drums, cymbals etc. sound more pronounced on Klipsch and probably on KEF (I am no KEF expert).A harder material would help the tweeters in this HECO, perhaps a three-way speaker with metal cone/tweeter material would give this speaker the character I would like. For some people, that means too "harsh," so with the HECO, you do get low distortion and less harshness. This speaker is a solid choice for its price and I cannot imagine many speakers out there beating it for range and clean sound (read: low distortion). Consider this speaker if you have very hard walls and not much dampening and/or if you want to avoid "harsh" sound. Again: no sub required with these in a smaller room.

Hearing things I never heard befor
Only have had these speakers for just over a week. They sound great, hearing details that I never heard before in music I know well.I tried a couple of different speakers before these, and they were overly bright causing fatigue. I can listen to these for hours and not get fatigue. The sound is spacious and bass is strong and clear.

Completely surprised
In my hunt for stand alone book shelves for a 2.0 music setup I auditioned the Wharfdale diamond 12.2, Klipsch rp-600m, the kef Q350 and these. After watching the cheapaudioman I was excited to hear the wharfdales but was extremely disappointed. They take a lot to drive and have a small wattage happy point. In their sweet spot they did sound pleasant, but never great in any one area. The Klipsch were exciting in their power. Again cheapaudioman said they lied about their sensitivity. I didn't have a meter to tell the exact measure but if I wanted the volume to sound similar I had to turn down the power on the amp significantly. They had a surprising amount of bass and they were best suited to not need a subwoofer. The shortcomings of the Klipsch are par for the course. They're a tad harsh, the bass lacks detail, and surprisingly I didn't notice them being airy. The KEFs, which I ultimately went with, were impressive though not perfect. The room I have them in is a basement bar with walls everywhere. There is no good center place to put the speakers and I needed to put them close to the wall. With all that being said the KEFs filled the room with mids and treble. They might have filled it with bass but that's a tall task because of the front of the bar. The KEFs took more power to push but they stayed tight until the very end. There was excellent detail in all ranges of the spectrum. The surprise were the Heco. The bass reproduction was as detailed as the KEFs and a played bit louder, but not as loud as the Klipsch. Yes I auditioned stairway to heaven with all and the Heco might have found a sliding on the fretboard that I'm not sure I ever heard on the KEFs. To me the Hecos were perfectly balanced. They enjoyed everything I threw at then from Sade, Kansas, Luther Vandross, and Billie Eilish. I went with the KEFs because of what happened with Ozzy, Lena Horne stormy weather and Anita Baker on vinyl. Also I found a great deal on the KEFs that had them at 450, and they look better in my room.

I gave these a whirl since they was so much publicity on Amazon.Too harsh for me even after break-in.

First Heco purchase
Purchased these after seeing reviews on youtube. So far they have surpassed what I was expecting of them. They far out perform their price. By themselves, they have a range I was not expecting from a bookshelf speaker. Adding a sub made all the difference in the world. I have them running off of an Emotiva BasX Ta2.

Amazing bass for bookshelf speakers
No lack of bass! Clarity was pretty good, but not competitive with more expensive speakers. I’d be curious to hear their higher end products one day when budget allows.

Very nice looking and powerful right and left speakers
Paired with Heco Aurora center speaker and an SVS subwoofer, I am loving the sound!
