It was an OK movie. The plot was a little hard to believe, so it's not worth 5 stars. But Nicholas cage is a redeeming point.

Good movie overall. Much better than I expected. The acting was good, not great. The story is a classic witch folklore tale , well used in many movies, that still scares us .Had elements or pays homage to some great movies, 60’s witch/horror movies, the Exorcist, The Changelling (the moving self scooter scene) The Birds and many more. It would be a great movie for a yearly Halloween tradition . Well worth a look

I love scary movies but have a hard time with all the ones that have sexual content. There is no point to the movies that have it in there, but it makes it hard to find "family" scary movies. This one is really good and has no sexual content in it.

Definitely one of the better outings for Nick Cage in recent years. I thought it was pretty good overall, definitely not a total waste - reasonably entertaining. Kinda had overtones of The Omen. I think Nick Cage could do well in more supernatural / horror movies - his stoic / shocked facial expression, which seems to come naturally to him, works wekl in this genre.

Has most things that make a good halloween movie, some eerie parts, suspenfull enough to keep you entertained, some supernatural. Story line was pretty good a little predictable in some parts but you have that with you can only write a hallowen movie so many ways. overall very good I would watch it again.

I was prepared to hate this movie but found myself getting into it and actually liked it by the end. Probably watch it again sometime soon.

Nicholas Cage is a college professor in New York City who decides to take his son to a Halloween carnival after a late night of trick or treating with his mom where his son is abducted and the rest of the movie is trying to find out who abducted his son. I gave this movie three stars because it was ok, but I wouldn't pay to watch it and it's not worth watching a second time.First of all, what kind of parent takes their very young child to a completely crowded evil holloween carnival in the middle of the night that is clearly not a carnival for children? And why is it that it is becoming way too common with thriller movie's now, as soon as you figure out the basic plot the movie's get really boring, almost stupid, too predictable, and everything is rushed towards the end the movie? It's Almost like the studio runs out ideas or budget to keep it interesting and has to hurry up and end the film. I was disappointed at the ending? I was saying "really?!" that was the ending? That was dumb.The trailer made this movie look so much more thrilling.

I am not a huge Nick Cage fan and usually skip his stuff, since he puts out so many movies a year, but once in a while a film he does surprises me.Looking for something as we lead up to Halloween, I chose this after watching the trailer. Some of the imagery was a little cheesy, but all in all, this was a pretty good flick with the occasional goosebumps or hair tingling failing, and a quick jump in my seat on certain occasions.If you're looking for something not too frightening, like Nick Cage, or want a Halloween themed movie, this is the movie to watch. Not as good as Mandy, but that is a movie on a totally different level of weird and freaky. Definitely worth the time.

Firstly I purchased the UK region 2 Arrow release & yet again it's an Arrow release with no English subtitles. However if you have an unlocked multiregional DVD player the USA region 1 import (which will not play on ordinary UK region 2 DVD players) comes with English SDH & Spanish subtitles.I love many of Nicholas Cage's earlier movies, L Las Vegas, Moonstruck, Honeymoon in Vegas, The Rock, Face Off, Con Air etc but in recent years he's made some utter tripe. Compared to his more recent rubbish I was quite impressed with this little supernatural Halloween thriller. Granted it's not on par with his 80's & 90's stuff but it's probably the best he's done in a while. And if you save it for Halloween it's a nice one to watch after Hocus Pocus.

It's Halloween in New York City and father and son go mix in the crowd enjoying every minute of it. Getting hungry they go and get something to eat, while dad goes to pay and takes his eyes of his son for just that split second turns around and no little boy standing there, Now a year later still haunted over the disappearance of his son he joins his estranged wife plus shares the supernatural mystery that leads him into the darkness of the night with a detective who is working the case while Halloween is drawing close with a curse that can destroy him and all he loves. Now I rated this an A grade plus because of the story and actors playing their parts to a tee. Plenty more to this but why spoil it, fabulous right from word go, so now it's your turn to make a move for the munchies relax and put your feet up to watch a marvellous show that will have you sitting on the edge all the way through. Enjoy!

I enjoyed this movie, but will say without giving anything away, it is a tame ghost story. There are a couple of creepy bits, but nothing too terrible. If you like a good supernatural story, minus blood and guts, this may be for you. I like Nicholas Cage and he plays his part well. I bought the blu ray for just over £2, it was well worth it.
