Beware of feature that's no longer present in their Proximo App, and one feature that may bug you.
My primary goal was to find a tag that can help if a child wanders too far away from her parent. The Kensington Proximo Tag "Tracker" was supposed to have this feature. The way this works is that if the tag moves beyond a distance threshold from its associated iPhone an alarm will sound in the Proximo app. There's supposed to be a sensitivity setting in the App that lets you set the distance threshold. I could not find this feature anywhere in the App or their documentation until I found a brief reference to it in a FAQ that says it's available in Advanced Mode. So I went looking for Advanced Mode, to no avail, so I called support. After some research, their tech had me reset my phone and reconnect the tag to it, but no Advanced Mode or Sensitivity setting appeared in the Proximo App. After more hold time she pronounced the tag defective and told me to return it to Amazon. I processed the RMA and ordered a replacement. The Proximo appears to be a good idea that's poorly executed, which is interesting since this appears to be a replacement for a previous generation tracking tag.But the idea that the tag could be defective in such a narrow way seemed absurd so I started a written support case at Kensington. Several hours later they replied that the Sensitivity Setting/Advanced Mode is not in the currently shipping App, which is due for correction at some future point.***UPDATE****Kensington Support wrote today:"We would like to inform you that we have received an update on the new version of Proximo 2.0 which mentions, that the "Advance Mode" has been removed. This is to help minimize the false alarms due to `sensitivity setting' being set too high (too sensitive or the range set too short). Thus, we regret to inform you that this app no longer features the Advanced mode."**************It's too late to cancel the replacement shipment so I'll have to get an RMA for it, too.To add insult to injury, my phone issue a loud warning horn sound a couple of during the night. This morning I checked its display and the source was the Proximo App saying that at 1am and 5am the tag had "disconnected", even though it hadn't moved from its location roughly 50 feet away (in my earlier tests of the default distance threshold it seemed closer to 100 ft). Maybe this is why Kensington added a "Quiet Zone" feature, so the user won't endure proximity alarms at certain locations. That raises the question: if you've tagged something you don't want to leave behind, wouldn't you want to be warned that you're forgetting to take it with you when you leave home?

Now working better for me.
Update 10/22/2015: App does not work with IOS update. Do not buy until App is fixed.I have had both the FOB and the TAG. Purchased both May 2014 and they are both still working. The leash function was a pain in the ass, I understand they have now dropped that function (alarm when phone and keys are separated). The FOB has been a pain, the large button gets pressed when keys are in my pocket, the phone alarm goes off. I find it is way easier to locate my phone by using "find iPhone" using my iPad or wife's phone or MacBook Pro. I see no value in the FOB over the TAG, only added problems with the FOB. The FOB and TAG battery life has been a bit better then the 6 month claim, the TAG a couple of months longer then the FOB. I found bluetooth would disconnect and lockup from time to time, I would have to reboot my iPhone to reconnect to the FOB and TAG. This problem seems to have gone away, perhaps phone software update fixed this or maybe my upgrade from 5S to the 6. I like the TAG for finding my keys, very helpful, I will live with the FOB until it dies. I might buy more TAG's for other stuff I tend to misplace.7/16/2016They fixed the software to work with latest IOS. I track 4 sets of keys with 4 TAGs. Not getting the software lock up anymore. Everything now working fine. I have had two units fail but I at least get better life then the Tile tracker that you can not change batteries on. I am hard on my keys so perhaps the failures are expected. Use the TAG regularly to the locate my keys, saves a ton of stress.

The ultimate key finder
I bought this fob because I am always misplacing my keys. I can't count how many times I have spend 10 minutes or more looking around the house for my keys. Invariably, I can't find my keys when I am on the tightest deadline! This fob has actually saved me quite of bit of time that I would have spent looking for my keys. More importantly I've avoided a lot of frustration.Good:1. It has worked wonderfully for locating my keys. I just open the app, sound the alarm, and follow the beeping to my keys. My kids love to help me find my keys now! I don't panic when my keys aren't where they are supposed to be. Everyone is happier.2. I haven't noticed any drain on my phone battery.3. It has always worked as long as the fob hasn't been turned off (more on that later).4. Range is good. It has not had any problems locating the keys upstairs, when I am downstairs at the other end of the house.5. The fob is fairly small. Doesn't add much to my keys. It is black and doesn't draw attention. (see my picture)6. The battery is easily replaceable with a cheap CR2032 button battery7. Still going strong after 3 months.Bad:I did once turn off the fob by accident. If the button is pressed and held, the fob will turn off. However, it will make a sound notifiying you that it has turned off. The first time, I didn't realize that is what happened. Now I know and I can just turn it back on. That only has happened once, in the three months I have been using it.Ugly:NoneSummary:A reliable way to find your keys with your phone.Disclaimer: I use this fob ONLY for locating my keys. I don't use the phone tethering/alarm or to locate my phone. I can always call my iPhone (or ping it with Find my iPhone) and I don't necessarily want my keys and phone to always be together. I disabled all features other than locating the fob .

Terrible. Simply doesn't work as it should or as advertised. The apple App for this hasn't been updated since April of 2014. My sudoko app is more currently. Waste of money.

This product was a huge disappointment for my first try at ordering something online
This product was a huge disappointment for my first try at ordering something online.Although the service at Amazon.ca was fantastic and the product arrived on time, it does not work as advertized. The damn thing never goes off when you want it to, however it does enjoy going off at many other random times, especially in the middle of the night. As well my phone will not allow me to uninstall the program now. The help line at Kensington was very unhelpful. All in all I feel that I got screwed and not in a good way.

Not too great.
Although the idea is awesome, we seem to be having problems with it keeping a lock on the FOB and staying powered on. Very Strange. Will contact Kensington about this sometime and see if It is a faulty product.

Blue tooth tracker FOB
Tag works fine, no issues or false alarms. As indicated, good for finding your keys or a reminder that you've left your device on a table somewhere. Will purchase another tag for an EDC bag. Alarms can be subtle as not to draw too much attention, or the look at me alarms sound. Bang for buck - yes.
