USB 3.0 External SSD Enclosure Case for 2013 2014 2015 MacBook A1465 A1466 A1398 A1502 SSD

This product worked WONDERFULLY for a Macbook Air Early 2014. It came in a professional container. I almost stripped one of the screws to get into the enclosure, but I was ultimately able to get in and attach the SanDisk 128GB SSD. The disk mounted on my attached laptop quickly and I was able to save the data and be the hero! It took me awhile to find the exact product I needed, but this clearly ended up being it. So happy!!

While it came with no directions it was pretty easy to figure out. Got the drive from a 2014 MacBook Air with 256gb capacity on which I spilled coffee. The computer was toast at least the hard drive was unaffected. I installed in five minutes I had it up and running right away. The price I thought was kind of high, but it works like it's supposed to. Didn't need an external power source. Pleased with that. Overall, I recommend purchasing this, especially if you can get it cheaper than $80.

The product came packed well assorted in individual components. No diagram or instructions on how to insert SSD. To many that might be self evident. There is only 1 component on the board with a slot configuration that would allow insertion of of the Macbook Air SSD. But once the solid memory card was inserted it was not self evident how the card was to be secured. After several google searches an appropriate You Tube video was displayed showing how the Mac SSD goes into an enclosure - including screws and brass spacer. The major problem is the SSD card taken out of my Macbook Air, although appropriate in slot configuration, did NOT fit the dimensions provided on Meitk's board. The screw cut out missed the SSD slot by about 1-2 mm rendering the enclosure worthless since the SSD card could NOT be secured inside the enclosure. It is unclear to me if this is an anomaly or merely sloppy engineering on the part of Meitk.So I wonder where this product was manufactured? Hmmm - Germany? Switzerland? Or perhaps China where a few millimeters of error is good enough among friends.After wasting about an hour of my time unpacking the enclosure elements, wondering what obvious assembly trick I was missing, sorting through a series of google searches, watching a few YouTube video demos, I realized this dog ain't going to hunt. Now I get to spend another hour registering for a refund or trying to find an amazon return UPS mailing slip.My advice: avoid the hassle. DON"T BUY THIS PRODUCT.

I was excited to give this a try and it came in a nice box. It came in a small clear container like box and the cables and enclosure was inside it. The enclosure itself looks nice and well made. I began to unscrew the screws with the screw driver provided. The screws that are on the side of the usb connector unscrewed very easily. The screws on the other side were very firm and I had to do couple turns to unscrew one of them. The second one I did the same thing but it completely stripped!! The other thing I'm surprised / annoyed by is that this came with no manual or instructions! I guess it's pretty straightforward but for $89.99 it would be nice to include. I would recommend to MEITK to provide better screw driver or instructions! I will be returning this but I have also ordered another one. I will give it a second change and will be updating my review accordingly. Highly disappointed this occurred.. This is a temporary review until the other one arrives.

It comes in a carrying case and is simple to figure out. Works perfectly

its not working? cant see the disk in disk utility or console, Mac HD A1502 and using on new 2018 Mac book pro so not sure if device is a dud, maybe if send a replacement I can try
