The illustrations are useless
I thought this illustrated version of The Science of Breath would show the techniques/postures/poses with diagrams on how to harness the full power of the breath - but instead what I found was that each chapter contained 1 photo at the beginning that had absolutely nothing related to the chapter contents itself. What was the point of these useless pictures?

can you smell charlatan?
William Walker Atkinson (1862-1932) is the true author of this book. there was never really a "Yogi Ramacharaka". I smelt fish as soon as I had read a little of the sample from the "look inside" option. The way the author writes is way too condescending and gives the impression of one conceited. Though a person may be ignorant a true Yogi/rishi still shows humility and kindness toward the less informed, never condescending. I smell a charlatan. Even if he does know what he's talking about through experience, he shouldn't have to give the false pretense of being an "Indian" Yogi in order to draw in potential customers and make more sales. I wanted to find out who this mysterious Yogi was before I would make a purchase, so I searched and found not a Yogi but rather some 1800s american man who often wrote books with different aliases. it's all a little too fishy for my taste. I hate charlatans so here is a one star.
