Really Good-looking model
This biplane was really easy to put together, and looks really good after assembly. The landing gear will likely be the trickiest part, but after a while, they will hold, and it will look really sharp. A full set of decals is included, in good detail. They look pretty much exactly like the photo.I really don't have anything bad to say about this. I will say that Dark Dream Studio's Pilots of the First World War set makes an excellent set of supplemental figures, and includes such obscure figures as mechanics hand winding the prop, and an armorer carrying a bag of flechettes. It can be hard to track down that set, but worth it.

good but some caution
On the box it says for age 14 and up. I'd recommend it only for someone with a fair amount of dexterity and patience. The pieces are quite small and break easily. I'd recommend not following the instructions exactly. The instructions say to assemble the landing gear and then put them on the model. If you want them to fit in the four small holes on the bottom of the fuselage, I'd save the landing gear for last and assemble them piece by piece on the model. The struts that connect the fuselage to the upper wing are small, break easily, and are difficult to get in place. Its a good model for the price.

Very cool little kit
Very cool little kit. Smallest one I've built.. I would like to see the Revell kits. I think they are 1/24. WWI Fokker SPAD Camel any help?

Disappointed
We understand this would be small; however, it’s super small, very thin plastic-parts break when detaching from there molds…. My husband had to use shearing snips, grips, and superglue…. Not what I’d recommend for a 10yr old to build! Don’t invest in the Academy brand planes… we bought 2 and both were the same.

Neat
Was a very easy to assemble, and paint model. Decals did not give me too much hassle, and it was a nice gift for my wife's desk at work.

nice, but pretty small
Got the item quickly, and it was in a nice, shrink wrapped box, which negates any lost parts, or the possibility of. The scale is however, a little on the small side, as I was expecting something slightly bigger. Hard to judge "scale" sizes. NOT a bad model at all, when price is considered.

A nice kit for the money
I'm about halfway through the painting stage on this one. The detail of the molding is very good with one exception: the cockpit. There is no detail at all to the cockpit, just a bulkhead where the control panel should be, a floor and two flat pieces shaped to hint at a seat. Granted, once assembled much of any cockpit detail would be nearly unseen, but some detail, at least a seat, would have been nice. One other issue is the decals for the red stripes; if applied and provided they would not look like the stripes on the box cover. But overall I am very pleased with this kit and look forward to seeing it finished and on my shelf.

Super Cheap but did not meet even very low expectations.
The were a few bent parts, a lot of sprue flash and mismatching parts. There is no paint guide.I have made Academy models before, so had low expectations, but this managed to surprise me still.I bought/built it because i wanted to practice some of my techniques for working with kits needing extensive modifications - for this reason it is 2 star instead of 1; i bought it because i knew there was going to be a lot of work involved. If you are new to modelling though or expecting a quick and enjoyable kit to build then spend $10 and get something form Airfix

A good set for novice modelers..

Hard work
Kit was badly designed, decals were horrible, detail was low, had to guess what paints to use as it never said.If you take your time and use a bit of imagination you can make a half decent model but make sure your an experienced modeller as this kit is hard work.
