A Superlative Biography
Jean Gibran and Interlink are to be commended for this new edition on Gibran Kahlil Gibran. The text is nicely spaced making it an easy read, and for quick reference the headers on each page show the year under discussion. The book is loaded with b&w and color photos. It has been substantially revised and updated from the previous editions and has a new foreword from Salma Hayek-Pinault. The authors were in a perfect position to tell Gibran’s story as they had access to primary documents and author Kahlil Gibran was the subject’s relative and namesake. If you want to know Gibran, look no further and get this book. It’s all you need to know – and more. I highly recommend this book.

Long familiar with the author as artist, poet, and philosophical touchstone for millions, I have eagerly anticipated this second edition of the biography of the man and his work. Its honesty is immediately apparent, as is the sweep of approaches to a complex superstar. It is revealing--he was complex--many things to many people-- like the fable of the perception of an elephant described by seven blind men--a long thin whip, a broad wall, a huge cylinder! I have already read the first hundred pages.--this is biography at its finest--alltogether smart, informed, and balanced. No flattery ever intrudes on the portrait. Well done all!

What continues to amaze me and which this book beautifully illustrates is the complexity of Kahlil Gibran with new insights into his erudite relationships. Long eschewed by literature elite for being a populist poet, it seems that they have underestimated this Syrian immigrant. Somehow GKG had the facility to be equally embraced in Boston Brahmin drawing rooms, Parisian ateliers and New York's literary circles all the while acknowledging his roots and advocating for Ottoman citizens and refugees. Given the current climate of intolerance and bigotry we should all pause to reconsider his messages.

Now More Than Ever: A Global Perspective
This handsome edition defines Gibran's position as an Arab immigrant who not only contributed to his adopted land but also became an international figure whose words continue to take on global perspectives. Especially vivid are his descriptions and illustrations of the lives of Islamic poets and philosophers. A must-read for folks who misunderstand the dreams and visions of our growing newcomers from the Middle East.

Well crafted with beautiful illustrations
This lovely book will give the reader new insight into the poet-artist responsible for so many remarkable works. My hope is that a whole new generation of readers will discover more than just “The Prophet” ... there is so much more.
