Nothing beats a lonely planet book for travelling

Was as stated and seems to be exactly what I was looking for.

Another addition to my lonely planet collectionIf I ever go somewhere a little out of the ordinary the first thing I do is order a lonely planet book on the destination as they offer great tips on the best sights to see and places to visit or eat and drinkThe maps are also handy to work out where everything is in relation to where your stayingThey also provide a good background on the history of your destination that many locals find impressive when you talk to them about your knowledge of the countryA must have investment to make the most of your trip

I found this book to be very helpful while I was in Costa Rica. I considered a few other books before purchasing this one, but I am happy I decided on the Lonely Planet book. There was a ton of helpful information. I especially enjoyed the color maps which were nice to provide an idea of where within the country I was and the section with helpful Spanish words and phrases which is organized very well by topics such as directions, food, etc. I am a vegetarian and I greatly appreciated that the book addressed dietary restrictions in the country and even provided a phrase on how to say that I am a vegetarian. The book also has a lot of info on different geographical regions of the country and things to do within them. I'll admit I didn't use these parts of the book as much (because we had a set itinerary for the majority of our trip) so I can't provide a ton of info on how accurate/helpful these areas were. We primarily used this part of the book in San Jose where we had some free time and the book helped point us in the right direction of what areas we should check out. Overall, I don't think you can go wrong with this book! We even had people borrowing it from us on the plane!

As usual, a lot of useful information, maps, recomendations and practical information to design your own trip in Costa Rica.
