Good buy if you want a flow hive at a quarter of the price
Got here a day earlier than expected about a week after i ordered it. Everything came out in good order no broken bits or anything. Assembly was a little tricky since they dont give you a detailed assembly guide. Its more of just here's a picture of how it goes together and where screw but no details on which screw goes where. Only was missing one part which was a screw for one of the knobs which is easy to replace.

You will need some tools, some sense, and some patience.
First of all, the reviews complaining about the parts fitting - it's wood! Wood will expand and contract based on the environment - humidity, temperature, and so forth. The joints are meant to be tight fitting so it's possible you might have to do a little sanding or make some fine cuts here and there. Remove everything from the box and let the parts acclimate for a few days before you assemble.Second: the material is good, it's cedar and it has been waxed - the intent is to keep it food grade and no harmful chemicals, this is a good thing. Wood can crack and things can break, contact the seller before leaving a lame review.Third: If you put a screw in something, pre-drill the hole! This is woodworking 101 and there is no exception to this fundamental concept and the instructions recommend this. I'm also going to say that you should use a drill with a clutch and not an impact so you don't go sinking the screws deeper than they need to be. Go buy a set of Dewalt Tapered counter sink bits, they are awesome and you'll thank me later. You will want some longer screws for mounting to the base, I use 3".Lastly: You will also need frames for the brood box if this is your first hive. 10 large frames can be had for 50 bucks. I didn't catch this and ended up buying them from the fellow I bought my starter nuc from.If you can put something from Ikea together you can assemble this. If you know where it's coming from, you know what to expect as far as that goes. You can find several videos on youtube by searching for "auto flow hive assembly"If I manage to keep my first hive alive I will for sure buy another next year, maybe even 2. I have not had the chance to try the honey extraction - but I don't see that being to much of a problem or concern.

Yes
There were no instructions included in the box I had to watch three different YouTube videos to figure out how to put it together. Once it was complete it is a nice product.Update 2020 I had an issue with a part missing and they sent it to me right away I was very impressed how they handled the problem. Thank you !

Poor craftsmanship and even worse customer support
These hive boxes came with a whole lot of cosmetic damage as well as some functional damage. I reached out to the seller about the damage and they told me most of the damage is cosmetic and that because it does not directly affect functionality it would not be replaced. After pressing them further they guaranteed that they would get a replacement shipped from their manufacturer in China.Long story short, they never ended up shipping the replacements for any of the cosmetically damaged parts like they said they were going to. Due to the excessive damage I requested a refund and they then refused to pay all required shipping costs. After submitting an A-to-Z claim and leaving negative seller feedback they reached out asking me to remove my feedback and offering to reimburse shipping costs. This review section is supposed to be used for product quality rather than seller experience and my star rating reflects as such, but multiple sellers are selling this item under different listings so I thought I'd use this space also as a warning for other buyers to avoid this seller and go with anybody else.

Waiting for the bees to use the auto flow frames.
I purchased this as a alternative to the Flow hive. The wood is low quality and very soft. It did not come with directions basically just a picture of the hive assembled. The brood Box walls fit together Exceptionally well. I glued the joints and taped them together with a rubber mallet. The wood has a oiley wax on it. I chose to paint my hive due to feeling the wood will not last more than a year if a thick protective paint was not applied. The flow style frames looked like a bug was cast into the plastic. I would Not recommend this for a new Beekeeper or first time buyer.

Good item just needs a little more work
Would be 5 stars if instructions a little more clear and if it came with frames for brood box. I also noticed there isn't a space to put a beetle guard so I had to buy I new foundation to accommodate it.
