Cute little hot handle holder that works
This little hot handle holder is just what i wanted. It slides on the handle smoothly and keeps you from burning yourself. You don't have to put on mitten that for people with big hands is annoying. Since, I make breakfast for my wife most every morning and have a Lodge 6 inch iron skillet, this is perfect. I've only had it for two days but it is exactly the right tool. I never knew they existed until I was watching a food program that served in iron skillets and put a silicon one on the handle to serve the food. A little research and I found the one. Don't leave it on the handle while cooking or in the oven. It does have a little strap that you could use to hang it up.

This one is definitely the Winner!
This holder fits my handle without being short, I have a 9 inch cast Iron skillet. In fact this holder would fit one of the larger skillets in my opinion. After reading all the reviews on amazon for a holder for my handle on my cast Iron skillet I decided this one had the best reviews and the price is right. My last one caught on fire while cooking. I highly recommend this one because it fits the handle great and the holder does not feel warm or get hot when cooking and it does not catch on fire when I'm cooking. If I ever need to buy another holder for more Cast Iron pans, this is the one! Look no further because this is the one!!

Excellent. Works well on all sizes of Lodge cast iron pans
Excellent. Works well on all sizes of Lodge cast iron pans. Slides on and off quickly, provides an excellent grip on all handles, and keeps your hand cool.Throw the rest away (silicon holders, leather holders etc.) This slides on and off quickly, and keeps your hand cool.I've tried all of the rest, and this is the BEST.

Great for when you've got something simmering
I purchased this mostly for when I have to tend to something cooking on the stove for an hour or more at a time. By leaving the protector on, I can give the pan a bit of a shake now and again without needing to go for the pot holder each time. It is also nice when you are working with multiple pots, you can easily nudge the cast iron this way or that without needing a to grab some extra protection. This holder contains the heat very well - unless the head is kept on high, you can just leave this on the pan and it will stay within a comfortable temperature range.Otherwise, though, a pot holder is a better choice. This doesn't quite provide the same control a pot holder or towel will, and generally if you aren't touching the pan that much it doesn't make sense to leave the holder on the handle anyway. Obviously, a pot holder and towel is a bit more flexible in terms of what it can grab, as well.I prefer this to the silicone-type myself, as I find the those to be a little too stiff for natural movement. However, they do grip the handle better than this one does. I am considering either sewing a magnet into it, or, more likely, putting down a couple flat-ish rings of silicon caulk on the inside of this holder, so it grips a little better.Anyway, if you keep your cast iron cooking on the stove for long periods of time, would recommend.

Better than the silicone handles
I have two cast iron skillets and one of these heat resistant cloth handles and one silicone handle. The cloth handle gives me better grip and adequate protection whereas the silicone is slippery and just isn’t safe for use holding heavy cast iron skillets. So I bought a second cloth handle.

Burned up quick on electric stovetop
I thought we had just spilled something in the oven when I smelled burning one night. Though I never saw them actually catch fire (the burns were on the bottom of the handle), I quickly found the source of the smell. This was on an electric glass stovetop by the way.. no flame, and we rarely turn the heat up over 6 with our cast iron. Apparently a huge fire hazard.

Effective and comfortable, protects from heat
Excellent mitt. Slip it on, use it to move the cast iron then take it off and leave it to the side. Just like you wouldn't leave your oven mitt in the oven, don't leave it on the skillet. If you treat it well it will work great. Used on 10.25 inch, 12 inch, and 13.25 inch pans with no problem.

Good idea, needs better material
I liked at first, but has not withstood heat well. The outer black fabric is becoming brittle and flaking off. Need material used in firefighter gear.

Keeps the heat contained
This is my second one in 3 years, 1st one was starting to fray at the seams, but has been used constantly, so felt got my monies worth over that period.Doesn;t let the heat escape and makes it much more comfortable to handle the skillet when used on the handle, during cooking

Terrible workmanship
Terrible cheap sewing work. I had to re-sew it all. Inside there is a sewn in sticker that says: "Made in China" but nowhere has the name "Lodge". It could be sold for .99 cents at any Buck Store for the quality it is. Terrible price sold on Amazon for $16.00
