Venegance kommt mit einer tollen neuen Mechanik daher.....dem Schurken Team! gleich 5 Bosse gilt es zu legen und die sind teilweise schon recht knackig je nachdem mit wievielen Helden und Schurken spielt. Aber das Geniale kommt erst jetzt es ist kompllett Kompatibel mit allen Erweiterungen ohne auch nur ein einziges Manko dabei zu haben! Dabei kommen neue Mechaniken wie ein aus 4 Helden bestehenden Team für einen Spieler daher und und und. Alles in allem absoluter Pflichtkauf!

As with the other SotM products this is a high quality game, both in terms of the physical cards and in the fact that it has well thought out gameplay that is both simple to understand yet quite deep.Vengeance is a sort of spin-off, in that it is (currently, as of August 2014) the only game in the series that doesn't use the normal 'heroes vs. a single villain' premise. Instead, it adopts a team-based approach where 3-5 heroes take on 3-5 villains in an elimination-style battle. Other than that, the rules stay the same as with other SotM games. It's a stand-alone game so you don't need any of the other products to play, although it should be noted that all the heroes (5 of them, all of whom are great fun and excellent additions to the game mythos) and both environments can be used in the other games too (sadly, the villains cannot as they are especially designed for team-play - this is one of the only major downsides). Heroes and environments from other sets can, likewise, be used in Vengeance too.The average game time seems to be around 45-90 minutes for me, playing 4 vs 4, although a particularly good or bad card at a critical moment can significantly add or reduce that time. It can be played solo, or with multiple players. It does take up a fair bit of physical space to play, although a standard dining room table has always proven sufficient for my games. As with other the other games, I would highlight that this game does require a bit of concentration to keep track of all the ongoing effects, bonuses and penalties - it's hardly a daunting task, but it's worth noting that very young kids or people with short attention spans may find themselves getting frustrated.Overall, this is a definite five star product, although I would say that, if you're not familiar with the SotM game world, you should probably start with the original game rather than Vengeance, simply because it's a better starting point and gives you a wider variety of potential scenarios. Personally I've bought all the SotM products as it's one of the best card games of this type I've ever played.
