One Family: Indivisible: A spiritual memoir

A man of integrity tells his story with wit and grace
For some odd reason, spiritual leaders don't seem to make good memoirists. Very rarely have I read the reminiscences of a spiritual leader and thought, "I want to hang out with that person." Either they tell their story in the driest possible terms or their modesty makes them present themselves as terrible, uninteresting people -- the worst kind of sinners.Steven Greenebaum, however, is an excellent storyteller and, while modest, doesn't hide his light under a bushel. Having read his other two books with great interest, I found "One Family: Indivisible" to be equally readable, very much in his voice, and often delightful. While not all of us come to the same answers Steven has arrived at, all thinking persons with any interest in spiritual questions certainly wrestle with many of the same questions. I found myself smiling wryly at many anecdotes because they seemed so familiar and laughing outright at others because of Steven's wit.The author proves himself to be a man of integrity who has done his best to live a life of integrity. I'm proud to know him and very glad that he chose to tell his story in this fine book.

A fascinating spiritual autobiography
One Family: Indivisible is an autobiography of a remarkable man who, despite multiple challenges and tragedies, has carved out a unique spiritual path. Always an independent thinker, Steven has frequently disagreed with the authority figures in his life, often having to change course and find a new direction on his own. As he puts it, “For every door that closes, a door can be kicked open.” After a profound spiritual experience, he eventually found his way to founding a new church, Living Interfaith.Steven’s writing style is lively, personal, and brutally honest, about both himself and others in his life. He ends every chapter with a cliff hanger, so you have to turn the page. This book is a fascinating read.

A personal spiritual journey leading to public spiritual work.
Steven's book is an interesting exploration of one man's life experiences that become grist for the spiritual mill.It is a lively read filled with unique encounters that run the gamut of human emotions, from good to bad and many things in between. His desire to learn and grow from everything life throws at him is inspiring. The resulting authorship of three spiritual books and the founding of the Living Interfaith Church is a testament to the resiliency of the human spirit and its ability to manifest love without boundaries, an inclusive view of all humanity held in a loving embrace. I highly recommend it to all spiritual seekers and anyone who has an interest in using their own experiences for personal growth.
