If you love books where the main guy is a true anti hero who is obsessed and faithful to the heroine then you will love this book as much as I did. I would have given this five stars if it had been a full novel!

Although a fairly short, quick read, this was long enough the plot unfolded and developed with enough intrigue, rather than being rushed - and for that, A.A. Dark must be commended. Similarly, this novella does not end the way you would think; although it is a satisfying ending, it is anything but run-of-the-mill.As ever with a release under the A.A. Dark name, this is gritty, brutal and gory, though less on the horror side than of her other releases, more into the suspense genre (with added gore, of course).Where this fell a little flat for me was the lack of character development. As a novella, it is difficult to really delve into the psyches of these characters and ensure they are fully formed, and A.A. Dark does this brilliantly in her 24690 series, but it didn't quite work this time for me. I found Lucy rather weak and unoriginal, and Boston, although somewhat terrifying and manipulative, didn't quite feel real enough for my liking, or to make this as effective and shocking as it could have been. Honestly, I just think a slightly longer manuscript would have made all the difference in this respect.Although satisfyingly original and creepily erotic, Never Far falls short of its promise due to its length and resulting lack of character development, yet remains a must-read for fans of the pitch black genre.

This is the first book I've read by A.A. I did enjoy it but thought the ending was rather abrupt. I think there was something lacking from the storyline. It seemed to me that the book ended in mid air & there were things that I felt needed further exploration. I think Lucy was rather stupid & native & although Boston was totally unhinged & evil his character needed to be further developed. What made him tick etc. Jeff was also a rather weak character but I was really hoping he would become the hero of the book.It was OK & I will probably look for more books by this author if they are available on Kindle Unlimited.

A.A.Dark has produced another psychological dark read that will draw you in and tip you upside down. Never Far is a mess with your mind twisted tale of betrayal, brutal violence, an unhealthy obsession, cleaver twists and love or what one person believes is love!. A must one click for fans of this author and those looking for a gripping read.

The Queen of Pitch Black has done it again! Even though Never Far is a novella, it is a very intense, dark and twisted read. It grabs you from the very beginning, and doesn't let go until the last page. I absolutely loved it! This story contents explicit violence and dark psychological themes, and should be read with extreme caution. If you enjoy stories like that, then this book is definitely for you! A.A. Dark I love the dark and twisted stories in your mind and your ability to put it in writing, can't wait to read whatever you come up with next!
