Totally amazing and emotional stuff !!!!!!
I adore Callie Hart, her writing is amazing and she gave us the Blood and Roses Series and Zeth Mayfair, I love her just for that alone, and this book is just as good - emotional, heartbreaking, raw, beautiful and shocking.Coralie ran from her home in South Carolina 12 years ago, not because she wanted to but she had to for her sanity and her life. Leaving behind the boy she fell in love with nearly destroyed her, but she had no choice. Now she has to return for her fathers funeral - she is nervous and closed off wants to get in and out of her home town as soon as possible and back to California - but life never goes to plan !!!!Callan Cross was the boy she left behind, the boy she loved with all her heart, he was her everything - guess what, Callan is back in town too and now she has to face him and her buried feelings for a man she thought she would never see again. The emotion in this book overflows, there is plenty of angst too and some really heartbreaking moments to deal with, abuse that is inflicted from the one man in her life that is supposed to always keep you safe and look after you forever. Coralie is hiding some deep dark secrets that have been slowly eroding her over the years and as soon as Callan locks eyes on her again, he makes it his mission to break down those walls that Coralie has built around her heart and to be there for her no matter what. But can he handle all the dark deep secrets she is hiding ?The characters are wonderfully written, I was drawn to them almost instantly and I absolutely adored Callan. He is so loyal, so strong, so loving and yet so alpha at the same time. Coralie - well my heart just broke for that girl, sometimes I wondered why she put up with what she did, I couldn't quite get inside that head of hers to figure her out sometimes. By the time the book was coming to an end I was already feeling their loss, missing them like a loving special family member who was going away on a long trip, I could have read about them forever more - just wonderful storytelling at it's best.“When Shakespeare wrote Romeo and Juliet, he didn’t come close to what we had.” enough said !!!!!!

A beautiful but at times haunting love story
This is another hit from one of my fave authors Callie Hart. It's a very different storyline from the others I have read, as it is a second chance romance between Callan and Coralie. It covers a 12 year time frame and flips back and forth from the time of their teen romance to present day.Now I normally find YA books a bit cringy but this one was so well written and due to the dark theme, was anything but sickly sweet. Oh the angst! Callan is a swoonworthy guy that I defy any reader not to fall in love with! I was rooting for a HEA so badly and Calico didn't disappoint. On a critical note I get that some reviewers may have found some issues which they may not have felt authentic (I won't be specific as I don't like to leave spoilers) but there was nothing significant enough to reduce my enjoyment of the book.

Second chance love
A very beautiful story of second chances and finding your perfect soul mate. This is the story of Coralie and Callan, two childhood sweethearts that were seperated due to tragedy and misunderstanding, finding each other many years later. We get to see them rebuild their love and repair the pains of their shared pasts. This story mainly stays in the present but does have chapters that go back to the past that explains the begining of their relationship in more detail- and it makes the book that much more enjoyable. Yes there are some difficult parts of this book, but done in such a way that's sensitive and not going to cause you to put the book down. Thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Differently Awsome Calico by Callie Hart
When I saw this book announced by Callie I was sooooo excited I could not wait to get my hands on this book ! The cover is so different but totally beautiful then I read the blurb and boom I'm hooked! Counting down the days till the release and seeing tiny Teasers but OMG nothing prepared me for reading this book it broke my heart ! Reading about Coralie and Callan and what the went through ( not going to spoil anything ) but I was blown away with the emotions this book brought out in me and yes I cried big fat ugly tears for this couple I know this book will stay with me for a long time to come. It was a lot different from reading her other series with was awsome I love how different it was and that I loved that Callie can do that with a story you can see how much of Callie heart, soul and tears went into writing this beautiful story of second chances and that no matter what Love can overcome the biggest secrets.Callie Hart thank you !

An all-time favourite
I don't give out five star reviews lightly. Never before have I felt a book affect me in such a way. Callie Hart has a knack for creating characters with the realistic rawness and darkness that many others lack. This was a struggle to read at points, conveying the all-consuming need to feel alive again, and the utter emptiness of the two lead characters unbelievably well.I have never felt so strongly towards book characters before, and it is a testament to Callie's writing that she managed to create such a complex but perfect relationship. I have to say that Callan Cross is my new book boyfriend (though perhaps I should amend it to my 'story soul mate', as 'book boyfriend' sounds too casual for my feelings towards him!).I cried, I laughed, and my heart hurt whilst reading this. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone.
